I was feeling overwhelmingly thankful when I woke up this morning and when I realized it was Thursday I knew I had to blog about it!
1. Almost one entire year of marriage to the most amazing Husband I could ask for!!
Nate and I are leaving for a little trip to the Northern Ohio area this weekend for a Saves The Day/Get Up Kids show and a lovely stay in the most luxurious hotel I will have ever set foot in. We’re celebrating our one year anniversary a little bit early in anticipation of spending most of the weekend of June 12th with our good friend Daniel. Not only is that also his birthday (and Brittany’s!) but he’s returning from “The World Race” (I talked about it in a previous Thankful Thursday post!). We haven’t seen him in a year so I know we’ll be pretty busy celebrating over that weekend- thus the reason for our little trip this weekend instead! I can’t wait to post photos of where we’re staying! *squee*
2. Other bloggers who make this little community so fun!
Seriously- since starting my weekly feature on young marriage I’ve received such great feedback. It’s a little difficult for me to contact people I don’t know and to reach out in that way. I’m a little shy even on the internet! ;] But of the people that I’ve talked to so far and gotten to know because of this blog I’ve only been met with sweet and wonderful responses! That really means a lot to me and I feel so thankful for all of the friendships I wouldn’t otherwise have.
3. New opportunities!
I can’t disclose any real information about what kind of opportunity exactly, but just cross your fingers with me! I’ve been waiting for this for a while, and to be able to see it on the horizon is a little bit beyond exciting! Let’s hope I didn’t just jinx myself…
4. Summer warmth outside my door.
I may complain now and then that it’s a little too hot- but when I walk out of my frigid place of work and slide into the drivers seat of my baking hot car I feel a type of happiness I can’t replace. For about 2 minutes. And then I have to turn the AC on full blast. But those first 2 minutes are amazing.
5. New music and a new iPhone with which to carry it!
My iPhone 4 has become a very serious addiction. I have always had a phone addiction- don’t get me wrong. But there is something majorly different about my love for this particular phone that I have not previously experienced. It’s just… a beautiful relationship. ;] I can now keep my music on my phone if I wish and actually listen to it without my battery going down to 30% in 10 minutes because of it. I listened to music for about 3 or 4 hours today, responded to an email or two, text a few different people, and my battery is at 93% right now. IT’S BLOWING MY MIND FRIENDS. Like, I can’t wrap my head around that. My old phone was at 93% 5 minutes after I unplugged it from a night of charging!
In celebration of basically having a new iPod I went on the hunt for new music and realized that two of my favorite bands have new albums out. Death Cab For Cutie – Codes and Keys and Manchester Orchestra – Simple Math. These are the only two albums that I’ve put on my iPhone so far and I’ve just been alternating them back and forth at work because they’re that good.
What are you thankful for today? =)
I know it’s been a while but I thought I should jump back on with my Thankful Thursday posts for the New Year. It really helps me to have a designated time to remember what I’m thankful for! In the past posts I’ve given extensive details about each thing I’m thankful for, but I’m going to try and tone that down a little and make it a little more simple.
This week I’m thankful for:
Most people hate leftovers- but when you start cooking often, it’s quite a relief to have a few meals in the fridge that are just ready to consume. As a rule of thumb we kind of have to force ourselves to eat them within about 2 days time though or we subconsciously write them off. And then I keep thinking, “Oh that’s still good.” even though I know there’s no way I’m going to eat it, ever. Tonight is leftover night.
2. Creative Friends (& Husbands!)
It’s fun to collaborate on little projects with people who share the creative gene- both with friends and of course, my Husband. Nate has never shown much interest in photography or being apart of the silly little things I do on the internet- but he’s come up with quite a few ideas for our project so far and it’s been really fun seeing him think up things like that. I still love my friends that don’t really get into being artsy/making things, of course- but it’s super fun to talk with people who “get” what you’re trying to do and don’t just think you’re silly!
3. Warm fuzzy blankets.
I’m curled up in my round chair with my giant pink fuzzy blanket and I may not get up the rest of the night. I’m so warm and cozy.
I’m patiently waiting to wear all of my frilly little dresses without long sleeves under them. I do love wearing my cardigans- but Spring is still cool enough for pretty tights and cardigans so it’s perfect!
Happy Thankful Thursday everyone!

Hello Thankful Thursday, it’s nice to see you! This week I’m thankful for a few things, and it’s been a little while since I’ve done this so I feel like I’ve had time to save up a nice list! I’ll start with the most obvious…
This is by no means a shocking pick for Thankful Thursday, I’m sure. I’ve expressed my love for Biscuit quite a lot over the past few weeks. But, I haven’t really given an update on how she’s doing or how she’s adjusted to being our bunny.. or really given a lot of details about her at all. So! We’ve had her since October 17th making this weekend our third week of having her. She is two months old so I will guestimate her at 3 months on November 17th. If you think about it, that makes her birthday August 17th! My birthday! When she’s 4 months old we can start giving her little treats like slices of banana and carrots. =) We may have already slipped her *one* special tiny piece of banana because she absolutely lost her mind when she smelled Nate peeling a banana in the kitchen. From day one we noticed that she has a full on foot fetish. She loves for one of us to sit on the floor and let her hop over our feet and run around them. And if you’re wearing shoes she will try to chew them off of your feet. She loves to CHEW, but that’s quite a common bunny characteristic. We’ve purchased the proper chewing toys but she would much rather chew your shoes, a wire/cable, or the carpet.. which she sometimes becomes obsessed with and tries to rip out of the floor. These are not things we love and we clap loudly and tell her no.. and so far it works.. most of the time. We’ve had to put up a baby gate on the stairs because she loves them and sneaks to second floor when we aren’t looking. And something that I will be bringing to a video near you very soon.. she’s a complete spazz. You know the way cats shake their butt before they attack something? She does that.. and takes off to run circles around the couches. She hops sideways straight into the air and literally loses her mind running all over the living room.. and there’s no other way to explain it without showing you all. It’s basically the cutest thing ever. ALSO? She sits on her hind feet and looks around.. and also washes herself in that position. I really can’t express how thankful we really are for her or how awesome she is!
Nate and I were both pretty horribly sick- missing 5 days of work between the two of us. I’m happy to say that we are finally mostly over it! I am still coughing but I feel fine. I’m extremely thankful for this because it has been quite a strain on spending time with one another when we were both so miserable. And it just makes life sad when you’re both half dead and can’t have any fun (alone time!) together. So it feels especially good to be healthy again.
This includes a lot of different things.. but it’s so true. I’m thankful for a possible first “snow” (flurries/showers) tomorrow. I’m thankful for the new friends I’ve made over this past year and the mixing of new and old friends! I’m thankful for silly things… like finding a super pretty and affordable apron. =) I’m thankful that I’m getting paid tomorrow!
