People do not know me but I will pretend. 😜

Reading that description makes me want to get some creativity flowing in this space and on my blog again, though! I’ve just been working and mom’ing - but I miss creating!

365 Days of Marriage, Marriage, The Meaning of Life · March 21, 2011

Five Years Ago

Five years ago on this day, March 21st, I walked off of a plane and into the arms of the man that I’d spend the rest of my life with. This truly blows my mind. So many things could’ve prevented us from knowing each other and certainly from ever meeting, but yet here we are 5 whole years later- married and living our lives together and to the fullest. I’ve always loved thinking back on this day every March 21st since we met- one year, two years… but this year we’re married and it just hit me a little differently than it ever has. I can’t believe this much time has passed, yet it feels like it’s gone by slowly in a way too.

Day 80 of 365 Days of Marriage

This is the scrapbook that Nate made for me a few months later for my birthday in August. The first page (at the top) holds the first picture we ever took together, a mere 30 minutes or so after we first met! I remember sitting in the Chili’s parking lot in my hometown about to have dinner together when he pulled this scrapbook out of the back seat and handed it to me. He had come down to Florida to visit me and we were giddy with excitement to see each other. I was so happy to have him in my town with me. I cried when I opened it- and I cried when I read the letter in the back about how he knew he was going to marry me. I remember hoping that he was right, but it felt so far away then. We were “just teenagers” and my parents thought I had lost my mind at the time and didn’t quite approve of my choices. And then I totally went off the deep end and moved to Kentucky a little over a month later. ;] Crazy in love!

I can’t wait to spend 5 more years with this man. God has blessed me in so many ways and I am truly in awe every day.
