So, why the re-brand? It was just time do it. I’ve been up and down with blogging so many times over the past few months. I have gone back and forth, trying to decide if I was done with blogging all together or if I simply needed a change in order to ignite the passion I used to have for writing and curating content. My husband sent me a text on his lunch break yesterday afternoon and said we should start a blog …together. We sent domain name ideas back and forth and voila. I bought the domain after I got off work, created the new logo, and transferred everything.
There’s still a lot to do but I’m one of those people who gets an idea and I’ll work through the night to make it happen, NOW. I mean, I sat 6 hours to have my entire tattoo done all at once because the idea of having to come back in stages made me crazy (bless my amazing tattoo artist)…. Ya know? I’m a little impatient.
So, what will be different? First and foremost, we want to share our love of the wonderful city that we live in – Lexington, KY. I have tried to do that some in the past but it wasn’t my main focus. We want to promote local businesses and share local talent. Lexington is such a great place to live and I want to share why it is that I feel that way. Not just through photos of a cute place we hang out at, but by telling y’all more about the people who own it and put their blood, sweat, and tears into making it great! I’m going to have to get a little out of my comfort zone and talk to people, “HI CAN I TAKE YOUR PHOTO… I’m a blogger… Not a weirdo.” I’ll work on my pitch some. ;] But don’t worry, there will also be plenty of photos of cute places around here. There are so many.
And of course we still want to share our love of personal style. I’ll always love a good reason to be creative with my wardrobe. Especially now that I’m a mom! There are a lot of days where I need a reason to try, know what I mean? And now, apparently, my love of getting fancy has rubbed off on Nate a little bit! So we’re two little outfit-styling-picture-taking nerds in a pod. Y’all… I never thought I’d see the day when Nate really cared about clothing or hair. He’s pretty stinking handsome and adorable. *heart eyes* I’m not sure how often he’ll actually write for the blog, we haven’t discussed it a lot yet! But I want to make sure everyone knows that we’re doing this together! I would like to “shop local” for clothes and share some of the fabulous lesser known clothing boutiques! We have some pretty fantastic ones!
All in all – this is a lifestyle blog and we’ll be sharing the things that we love and make up our day to day! I have a lot of fun with product reviews, so you’ll still be seeing those! And of course, there will always be a lot of baby pictures because Landon is the star of our lives now! He’s pretty dang cute to look at, so I hope you wont mind.
