Dear Landon,
You are 11 months old today! Just ONE month away from your first birthday! How?! I don’t even understand how it’s possible that it has been almost an entire year since you were born. I’ve really got to get moving on your birthday party plans!
You are so much fun. I feel like I will say this every month, but so far, the 10-11 month stage has been my favorite! Every day is so new and full of possibilities. You are THISCLOSE to walking and have even taken 4 or 5 steps in a row on your own. You could do it but you can crawl so fast, why bother? ;] You are into every.little.thing. And you can get there way before anyone else can. We are constantly saying ‘no’ and removing you from a potentially dangerous situation. If there is a piece of lint or dirt on the floor, you will find it and give it to me or immediately try to put it in your mouth – depending on your mood. You love, love, love to dance. The Office theme song is your most favorite thing to dance to. If you hear it, you will stop whatever you are doing to dance to it. You will dance to just about anything though. And you love TV (UH OH) – Super WHY! and Daniel Tiger are your favorite TV shows. You will watch an entire episode of Super WHY! standing up in your Pack N Play at attention.
You are finally putting most of the puffs we give you into your mouth vs throwing them on the floor. You like baby food well enough but still do not have that much interest in it. I have tried feeding you pieces of food that you can pick up and feed yourself – egg, avocado, peas, cheese, etc. You are mostly uninterested and just want to play with it/throw it on the floor. You still nurse enough that I’m not worried. And you’ve completely mastered tilting a sippy cup up to drink a little bit of water!
Night time is still kind of a nightmare with you! Things had gotten better there for a while, and by better I just mean that I got a couple of 4 hour stretches of sleep once or twice. But NOW, you’re back to waking up every 2-3 hours to nurse. Mommy is tired. I’ve had a newborn for 11 months now and I’m ready to sleep. But I do love the nighttime nursing sessions all at the same time and I know I’ll miss them when they’re gone. So I try not to complain and I drink a LOT of coffee. :p But maybe we could try waking 2 times a night vs … 6? Let’s try that!
You have 4 teeth on top and 3 on the bottom. You have the cutest smile! You will sometimes bite a puff in half with your little front teeth and it’s the cutest thing. You have also bitten US a handful of times – ow! You pretty much love to bite and chew on everything, so we know there are more teeth coming!
You are the best baby. We have yet to have any public melt downs. *knock on wood* You love going places with us and just observing the world around you. Car seat. Stroller. Baby carrier. Buggy. High chair. Booster seat. ALL fine with you. You sit and play or people watch – no problem. I love to wear you in your Kinderpack baby carrier, both at home and out and about! You are so content to be worn while I cook and clean. Or while Daddy and I grab some coffee or browse a store on the weekend. I’m amazed by that and so thankful to have such a laid back baby. Honestly, if I had to choose between you sleeping through the night consistently or being easy going – I would choose easy going every time. I can’t complain.
You are in 12-18 months size clothes! You’re growing so fast! I can’t believe I am about to have to fill up another tote with baby clothes that no longer fit. I remember thinking that 12 month size clothing looked so huge and now here you are wearing the giant clothes I swore you’d never fit in because you were just so itty bitty!
I am so lucky to be your Mama. Your Daddy and I love you SO much and we can’t wait to celebrate one amazing year with you! Happy 11 Months!
