Pieces of The Days - April 2020

Finding a new routine in the midst of the current chaos has been challenging. I struggle to find the right balance between a strict routine and just living my life by the seat of my pants. I’m either writing down EVERY detail in a planner or I’ve decided to boycott the planner for the week. Different approaches work best for me depending on what is going on, find more here . I have to micromanage my work life so sometimes treating my home life the same way feels like too much. Right now, I am using a paper planner for my personal life that I really love and have been meaning to share with you all. It’s this one (click). I had the PDF printed and it turned out great. I will work on sharing more on that with you soon!

But today I just wanted to share some positive things at http://www.actionac.net about this current “routine” I find myself in. The ebb and flow of good days that feel productive and days that fill overrun with work and too many people needing something from me. The routine of waking up early for coffee and peace while everyone else is still asleep and staying up late in the office to work, because I know I will feel more organized the next day if I do.

The routine of leaving certain areas of my house just as they are because I know tomorrow morning my kids will want to rebuild the pop-up play place I spent time putting away. Living for the weekend to focus on playing with babies, cleaning, baking, and home projects we probably wouldn’t have gotten to at this point had we not been forced to sit at home and look at them.

Spending time playing Animal Crossing with Landon and binge-watching Little Fires Everywhere and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist when I just need a minute to unwind. Learning to make cocktails with my husband. And realizing that I can order Bloody Mary mix in my Wal-Mart delivery grocery order… because .. why not learn how to make those in quarantine?! Ha!!
