I picked up my small camera and shoved it into my wristlet as we ran out the door. I thought to myself, I’m going to vlog all about our trip to the pumpkin patch today! We got everyone into the car and I went through my mental list – diapers, wipes, two outfits, ring slings, baby hat.. and paper towels/plastic bags.. because this baby hasn’t pooped in over a day and let’s just be prepared for the worst. Cheeecckk. We have it all.Nate looked up the address of the pumpkin patch we were planning to go to and it wasn’t going to be open for at least another hour. Oops. Change of plans. We decided to go back to the one we used to go to before we even had kids, where we would stroll through the apple trees taking the perfect photos for my blog (click to see those! Fun Fact: I was pregnant in these! EEKK!) We took Landon there a time or two (CLICK! LOOK HOW LITTLE!) but once he was old enough to enjoy the play areas for the kids we found a different one that seemed to have more things to do. Look for Window Installation at https://www.homefixcustomremodeling.com/. BUT here we were, ready to go. So we decided to try out Eckert’s again and I am so glad we did. I love the feel of their old country store and they have so much for the kids to do! Not to mention, their apple cider donuts are THE BEST.
Yesterday made my heart so happy. We have been having quite a time with Landon lately. He is the sweetest boy but most of our requests of him end in meltdowns or resistance. He’s four years old and I think it’s all pretty normal but sometimes it feels so rough. It has been so draining trying to figure out the best way to reason with him and help him. A lot of things that we take him to do end up being very stressful and he doesn’t want any part of this “fun thing” we just took him to do.
He woke up in the best mood yesterday and I was so impressed with him all morning! We went to the pumpkin patch and it continued. I thought for sure we would pay to play on all of the fun equipment and he would want no part of it but he loved it ALL and played on everything with all of the other kids. I decided to keep my camera in my wristlet. I took it all in. We snapped photos and a video or two with our phones but it wasn’t the focus. And though I am a blogger/vlogger at heart and I LOVE getting the perfect shot, it just felt like the best day to relax with my little family.
I am still in awe of what a lovely day we had. We left the pumpkin patch peacefully, we went out to lunch, we came home and everyone napped. And in case you were wondering – everyone came home in the same clothes they went in. But by gosh, I was prepared. 😀
