Well, as you can see – I didn’t quite check all 24 off of the list. I still feel pretty good about my progress over all, though! Twenty four turned out to be quite an age of transition! I’ve started what I would actually call a career, which is a little hard to believe! I felt very insecure about this move at first, but as the days go by I’m finally beginning to feel more comfortable and confident. I’m more comfortable in my own skin, and as a result I’ve started doing things to make me happy even if someone else thinks that it’s silly or they disapprove. I’ve learned to be a little less anxious about things I can’t change, to worry less, and to just do things even when I feel like I can’t.
I’m not perfect. I can be a better wife, daughter, and friend. I need to call my mom and my friends more often than I do. I need to learn to balance house cleaning, budgeting, and meal planning with a full time job. I need to get to the gym. I need to go more places by myself. But you know? I’ve come a long, long way to this place – as an adult, as a person. Here’s to another year of growing up a little more, a little bit at a time.
Thanks for coming along on the ride!

i barely got through my 5 new years resolutions (uhm is not wearing pants ever for a year a resolution though really?) but you got a lot crossed off. and i would so be throwing you a gourmet beer snob themed dinner if i lived closer!
I think not wearing pants ever is a great goal, but I think we're pretty like-minded. 😉 I've actually become crazy in love with pants lately, weird.
I wish you lived closer because man do I love being a beer snob and that would be an amazing way to celebrate! 😉
It's ok! I know a few things I won't be able to cross off my list as well, but they will just make the list for next year, unless I can get them done in a few months! I think you did a lot, and that's awesome! I wish we got the chance to meet when we were both inSan Francisco! We were so close!
I wish we did too. 🙁 I went on and on about that to poor Nate when we were there. Of all the "online people" I talk about to him though, he actually knows who you are because I stuck your little blog card on the fridge while cleaning one day. Haha!
I feel like I crossed off a lot! The #1 thing is happening on Sunday. EEP. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared!
Aw, I think you did great. I know you didn't do everything you wanted to but you've still done so much!
I started an online book club this month. I've always wanted to do a bookclub since middle school but I am so awkward in front of people, plus traveling doesn't necessarily allow it, so I'm really excited to do it this way. =]
An online book club is a great idea!! I think I tried to do that too, but never went through with it. Whoops. I double failed that one. Good luck with yours! 🙂
Looks like you have made great progress! I have so many goal lists (101 in 1001 and the 15-20 I set for each season). I recently made a 26 in 26 goal list to be completed before my birthday next year. It's in April, so I have only 8 months to complete it. Eeek!
Thank you! 🙂 That's a good bit of time, I know you can do it!
-I kind of want a tattoo… I think I’d be too chicken to actually get one though.
-*Sigh*. I used to live by the beach. I haven’t lived near one for about four years now. I wish it was still a weekly activity!
-I’m trying to read 50 books this year (goal set by good reads), but I’ve found that when I’m pushing towards a goal, I don’t enjoy the books as much. At least I get an idea of what I like and want to come back to and what was essentially a waste of time. This year I’ve really enjoyed the Hunger Games series and some of Temple Grandins books. I’ve tried reading all of the Anne of Green Gables books but they have started to get a bit boring.
-I imagine a bookclub ran by me would go much the same as yours went, lol. Are you an ENFP? I think we have a lot of similarities.
-I would love to go to a barn dance! I can’t imagine they’d be a lot of them in New Zealand though… 🙁
-You have a blog office? Do you still have your imac?
-I LOVE Ikea! I miss it so much.
-I have an ipad. We haven’t had much internet since we moved house though and have been using a dongle internet stick with two gigs on it, between three hungry internet users. I’ve found that the ipad is kind of useless without the internet, it really limits what you can do. The ipad is excellent for productivity- making to do lists, taking photos where ever you are if you don’t have a camera (which I doubt is ever a problem for you) etc. I kind of wish I hadn’t brought it sometimes, because I wanted to use it as an ereader, but its really hard to get fairly priced ebooks here and movies are really expensive too. Maybe I should move to Australia…
Anyway… I’m not sure if you remember me, I used to follow your blog but then I stopped. My name is also Stephanie and I live in New Zealand, but when we were in contact, I would have lived in England. I originally discovered you by searching Nikon 5000D on google under blogs, and yours came up oddly enough. I noticed we had a lot of the same purchase goals, lol. This was probably 2 or 3 years ago, I’m not sure when I last left a comment. I followed you on flickr as well.
Do you still have that cameo girl necklace with the bow on it? I would love to get one but I haven’t seen anything similar.
I remember you, Stephanie! It's nice to hear from you again! I hope you get your internet up and running again- I would go crazy sharing it like that! I do still have my macbook, it just wasn't in the photo. I haven't used my "blog office" in a while. I usually just end up on the couch, heh. And yes, I do still have my cameo necklace. 🙂 I hope you find one!
