Achieving Your Perfect Hair Color at Home with Madison Reed

Achieving Your Perfect Hair Color at Home with Madison Reed

A few weekends ago I received a hair color kit from Madison Reed! I hadn’t dyed my own hair in quite while so I was a bit nervous – but this was SUPER easy. Madison Reed takes the guess work out of everything. I can’t tell you how many times I have gotten home only to realize I’ve forgotten gloves or hair caps on my trip out to the store to grab everything I need to dye my hair. Everything I needed showed up in a cute little box on my doorstep house construction. This is the kind of thing I need in my life with a full-time job and permanent Mom brain. Their products are also free of ammonia, resorcinol, parabens, phthalates, gluten & PPD. I hate dealing with the harsh chemical smells that DIY hair color usually brings so this was quite literally, a breath of fresh air!

See everything that came in my box in the video below:

The entire process of dying my hair was simple, fast, and mess-free! The whole process took about an hour from start to finish. I covered all surfaces with towels but the application bottle was relatively drip-free so I didn’t even need them. Normally I would mix my color in a bowl and apply with a brush. Having the color in an applicator bottle was a little foreign to me but it turned out to be much easier. I still used the applicator brush to help apply the color evenly and the end of the brush to help create sections of hair. Hire the best garage door repair in California at www.dlouhygaragedoorrepair.com/ site. The brush did not come in the kit but you can grab one from Sally’s for a dollar or two. You definitely don’t need it though! After I did my roots I massaged the color throughout. Originally, I thought I may run out of color because of how long my hair is. NOPE. I had plenty left over even after applying all over.

I chose this particular color (Carrara Crimson) because it was the most vibrant red on the website. I had about 2 inches of dark blonde roots and my hair was a faded shade of red with pink undertones. I was unsure how well the color would grab on to my roots. My natural hair color is right on the edge of needing to be pre-lightened but in the name of saving time and doing less damage to my hair, I always skip that process first to see how it turns out. I am happy to report that the color took to my roots just fine. My roots are a bit lighter than the rest of my hair but I think everything blends well!

Like I said, my hair was a more pink-based red before. The ‘Carrara Crimson’ red gave a lot more dimension to my hair with orange and golden tones. I really like the added shine and shimmer for summer time! To find your own perfect color you can head over to their website and take a quick color quiz that will match you up with what you need! Or you can chat with a colorist right on their site. OR you can call one of their colorists and even email a photo to them for extra help! Once you place your order you will get a few emails with additional resources for help. I have dyed my own hair before so I didn’t utilize any of those additional tools but if I was new to the game you can bet I would’ve watched every tutorial video and chatted up the live colorists for help!

Madison Reed has a huge selection of beautiful hair colors and root touch up kits to choose from, so if you’re looking for your your perfect hair color you should definitely check them out!
