One of the best things about having a little one is experiencing all of their FIRSTS with them. Yesterday Landon got his first REAL haircut. We had a great experience at Ms. Holly’s Barbershop (Website/Facebook) located in the Hamburg area in Lexington, KY. I researched different options all around town and kept landing on Ms. Holly’s Barbershop due to all of the good reviews from other moms. Their website says that they welcome kids of all ages and Holly will even do house calls for autistic children who may have difficulty coming into the shop for a haircut – isn’t that wonderful?! I can tell you, they did not disappoint us!

Our Experience:

We got to the barbershop around 5:30 PM and the place was pretty packed. We were a little hesitant at first because we knew they closed at 6 PM. To be honest, we underestimated the amount of time it might take to cut the hair of a 22-month-old. We didn’t have to wait too long at all. The Barber who cut Landon’s hair was so nice and patient with him. Nate ended up sitting in the chair and holding Landon so he would be a little more at ease. I let Landon watch cartoons on my phone and that helped to distract him a bit as well. He didn’t love the experience but he was also pretty indifferent as long as he had something to focus on. We were there until about 6:30 PM and his hair turned out great! We will definitely be going back there for his next haircut!
