Cincinnati Out My Window

We grabbed some donuts from North Lime Donuts and coffee from A Cup of Commonwealth this morning and jumped on the road to Cincinnati. We are here this weekend for the Flying Pig Marathon. Nate is running the half marathon tomorrow, so we made a little weekend get away out of it! This is Landon’s first night in a hotel. Not really sure how well he’ll sleep but it’s not like we get a ton of sleep at home anyway .. so I’m pretty much up for whatever! And ya know – hotel beds are pretty dang cozy. I’m looking forward to that even if there isn’t much sleep!

The Hilton we’re staying at in Covington, Kentucky (just across the river) is pretty fantastic. The downstairs has a water fountain that we can hear in our room. I’m falling asleep just sitting here listening to it. And there’s a little pizzeria and ice cream shop basically right outside our door! They had FREE COCKTAILS this evening at the bar. Of course, we were out during the free cocktail hour but.. I’m thinking we need to come back and stay here without the baby. Ha!

We got here pretty early in the afternoon, stopped off to pick up Nate’s race packet, and grabbed a bite to eat at LaRosa’s. We checked in at the hotel, dropped off our stuff, relaxed a bit, and went back out to grab a few snacks and things for tonight and in the morning (see above photo). It’s been a dreary day but we’ve enjoyed it! Landon is the easiest baby. He just goes with the flow! I’m looking forward to seeing Nate race tomorrow and I’m really crossing my fingers that we make it to Ikea to do a little shopping afterward! I’m not sure exactly where anything will fit in our car at the moment. Packing with a baby is no joke. Momma needs an SUV. (I will never have a van. NEVER.)
