Before I ran out the door today I decided to snap a few pictures of my outfit. I had to be at work at 9, but I was like.. it’s only 8:50, I got this! There’s a 15 minute window that saves my butt from being late pretty much every morning, and I only live about 10 minutes away thankfully. If we’re being honest, I can’t tell you how amazing it felt to get home and take this skirt off. After I ate lunch I was pretty much unable to breathe! It probably didn’t help that my green top is actually a dress, and those little ruffles go all the way down- taking up the tiny bit of breathing space it might have had! This whole “dress as a top” trick is really common in the blogging community, right? It’s funny how things become so normal to us online, because when I tell someone offline that my top is actually a dress the response is usually that of confusion. ;]

Nate and I got home at almost the same time this afternoon so we decided to go out for a run and a bike ride! He ran, I rode. It was such a gorgeous day today with a high of 62. Kind of chilly, but perfect for jeans and a long sleeve top on the bicycle. It’s amazing how little I know about the layout of our neighborhood. Nate knows it like the back of his hand from running 18 miles and having to be creative with his routes. Me? I was lost a mile into our journey! I spied the most amazing location for outfit photos, by the way! =) …He’ll have to help me find my way back there, haha.
Right before we left a neighbor lady from across the street walked over to us at the foot of our driveway and introduced herself. We’ve literally met the neighbors directly to the left and right of us, and that’s it. We’ve lived here for almost two years, so I feel like that’s pretty sad. In our defense, it’s really hard to meet your neighbors in a brand new community. It’s not like we were the only ones coming in to an already established neighborhood – plus we’re ridiculously young and people give us the side-eye anyway. Speaking of that .. neighbor-lady said she and her husband had decided that we must be brother and sister with parents who bought us a house! Ho’kay! That’s just .. yay. I hate that people think, well, that we’re brother and sister … but mostly that someone just bought us a house and takes care of us. I could tell that she didn’t mean anything rude by it at all, but man.. that just sort of sucks for us. That people think we’re obviously too young to be married and definitely too young to own a home! Oh well… hopefully if people see us out more we can set them straight.

Don't be offended your neighbor thought that…that is so weird! Who thinks stuff like that?!
Ah I know, but YES REALLY? Who thinks that? Haha. I was just caught off guard by it. She was really sweet, but just didn't realize how it came out. I think retired people finally building their first home are a little confused by people in their twenties coming in and doing it right off the bat. I get it. But geez.
thats kinda creepy what your neighbour thought.
I've only met one of my neighbours, however I'm a window stalker so I am aware of who lives where in my area. lo.
ps..I wish I had outfits that I could mix and match like you do. My goal is to get more creative eventually lol
Haha right, we know who lives around us mostly.. but we've only seen most of them from a distance.
And really, I'm running out of combos. I wish I had more separates, not just dresses. And all of my dresses? Too short now. And I don't own enough skirts to mix the dresses as tops without wearing the same skirt over and over. I need to sell quite a bit of stuff and go shopping.
Aw, don't don't take it personally. It's probably just because so many people are getting married later in life now. 😉
But this outfit is seriously adorable! That necklaces matches so well, and I *love* those Blowfish shoes! I have the same pair in black leather. Love. Love. Love. <3
love the color blocking!
woah that's one awesome perch thing you got!
So pretty! Love the colors and the necklace. Is that a sock bun I see??
