Reading that description makes me want to get some creativity flowing in this space and on my blog again, though! I’ve just been working and mom’ing - but I miss creating!

Sweater Tights Weather is Here

Untitled
It’s been a long long time since I posted outfit photos. I’ve needed a break from the blog – sleep deprivation has left me with very little motivation or energy to do much outside of things that have to be done. I should honestly be doing a handful of other things around the house as we speak! The baby is taking his very first scheduled two hour nap in his crib. I will talk more about that in another post! But yes – I am taking a minute for me today. I put an outfit together today with actual thought behind it. I’m wearing tights – a rarity as of late! I actually had a sweet reader send me an email about how she would like to wear tights more but doesn’t really know how to incorporate them into her wardrobe. It reminded me how much of a staple they used to be in my closet.

As for how to incorporate tights into outfits? I’ve honestly never given it much thought! I’ve had most of mine for a long time and have only bought them randomly when they have been on sale at Target, Old Navy, or H&M. The secret to wearing tights is that – there is no secret! I am big on patterns and textures so in this outfit, for example, I’m wearing ribbed sweater tights with two relatively plain pieces. I think that adds something interesting to the outfit. I threw in a headband with a little extra color and some lipstick to match. This is also my way of carrying summer pieces, like scalloped shorts, over into the Fall season.

When it comes to fashion – wear what you love! A comment on my outfit by a stranger is usually followed by them saying they could never pull that same outfit off. I always disagree with them. If you want to wear hats – wear ’em! Stop saying you can’t because your head is too this or that. If you want to wear brightly colored tights – do it! Wear all the things and wear them proud.

You are SOOOOOOO right! Wear what you feel good in, always. You have such a pretty smile. Love your outfit. I'm a guy, and a dance major at college, and I regularly wear tights with shorts….. love the scalloped ones…….
In the winter I switch to long sweaters over my tights. Sure, I get looks, but……..
You're a lovely inspiration to me. Thanks

The dressy shorts look is good on you! It's not one I feel like I can ever pull off (legs so short and big, lolol) but I'm always envious of people who work it and you do!

Happy to see you blogging! 🙂

Thanks, Emily! <3 I've seen curvy girls work the dressy shorts! You could totally do it! BUT, I believe it's all about wearing what you feel comfortable in. Not everyone would feel comfortable in shorts with tights. I'm almost kind of to that "age" where I'm like, "Y'all…. should I be wearing this?". But then I wear it anyway. 😉
