Adventures, What I Wore · September 5, 2011

Patti’s Settlement

In early August Nate and I headed to Western Kentucky with basically all of our friends. At least, all of the friends that we have in common with Phlecia and Sully- considering we were there for their four day wedding weekend! You’ve seen a photo or two in my iPhone snap posts and I honestly don’t have a ton from those few days because we were so busy and out on the water for the majority of it. But, these photos that I took right before we traveled home on Sunday afternoon at Patti’s Settlement are my absolute favorite of any that I took! That area is so gorgeous and I was basically in heaven when it came to photo opportunities. I know, I’m such a nerd! Definitely check out the link and take a look at the restaurant menu. You will be drooling, I promise.

The first thing that I spotted when we arrived? The pink tractor. Never have you seen a girl so excited about a tractor. Kristie and I immediately ran over to it and started snapping pictures of each other. By the way, she’s a good photographer and I like it when she’s around for photo opportunities, to give Nate a break from my madness! We walked around the area a bit through the cutesy down-home country inspired scenery. I guess it’s probably all sort of cheesy .. but um, I really like cheesy stuff and I have zero shame about it!

Our friend Daniel and his parents met up with us and they were nice enough to treat us all to lunch. Very, very sweet! All of our friends have such generous families, I swear. We enjoyed their nice company and ate some seriously amazing food. The bread at Patti’s comes in a flower pot with strawberry butter! I was too busy stuffing my face with that to take a picture of it, but I wish I had!

Near the end of our lunch we asked the waitress to list the deserts for us. They have a TON. She basically recited them at warp speed for 3-5 solid minutes. After she was done there was no doubt that we were OBLIGATED to purchase at least one desert. So Jackson and Kristie split one because they split a meal in the first place and were the only ones left with any room to spare!

If you ever get a chance to visit the Paducah/Western Kentucky area- you must visit Patti’s! Such a fun little atmosphere and the food is to die for. Go, go!
