Day 18 of 365 Days of Marriage

As it would turn out, I discovered the perfect use of my scarf today: trapping my Husband into a kiss. But, truth be told- he submitted pretty willingly. :] I’ve had so much fun with this project so far. I know we have a long way to go but I think it’s started off pretty well. All of your comments here, on our tumblr, and flickr have meant so much and it’s great motivation- so thank you everyone. =D

Over the past few nights Nate and I have really started discussing our money- where we are, what our savings goal should be, etc. And he’s got a great plan for us that is absolutely attainable if we keep the little splurges in check! I’m excited because it includes paying off our cars- and that will be huge for us. Also, it gives a little room for traveling. Nothing big right now- but in the next few years we may go somewhere exciting, right before babies? (Baby should not be plural.. it just sounded better.) That’s the plan! And as part of our Christmas present from my In-Laws we are planning a short trip to Chicago once it warms up a little! We were entertaining the thought of going to New York, but we want to wait and go there when we have more than just a 3 day weekend to devote to it. Besides- I think I should take baby steps! I’ve never been to any big cities, not really. Not like Chicago anyway, or at least in my mind. I just know I’m going to love it and be in complete awe. There is a massive XXI there (Forever21)- so there’s no doubt in my mind that I will think I’ve gone to Heaven. And yes I know there’s a bigger one in New York, but again- baby steps! The only thing about Chicago is- I hear it’s “the windy city”.. and.. well, I loathe wind. I like my hair to stay where I put it. Ya know? But that might be just cause to own more hats. Like this? Of course it may just fly away…

I’m ready for our trip. Wind and all. =)

PS: I still haven’t posted the last “Year in Pictures” blog, OR shown you all what Ashley got me for Christmas. And one of the pieces of jewelry she got me, oh man, I can’t wait to base an outfit post around it!

If you're not flying…I recommend the Mega Bus. CHEAP(my ticket ended up being 30 bucks round trip) and then you don't have to worry about parking!

Ohhh, that's a good idea but I have a feeling we'll just be driving ourselves. I think we'd get cranky if we rode the bus haha.

It really depends on when you go to Chicago. I've been there in early fall and late spring and it's not THAT bad. And it depends on where you are — up high in Wrigley field or down on the beach? Probably will be windy. But you should be OK for shopping, etc. You will LOVE the Magnificient Mile of Shopping down Michigan Ave. I don't even like to shop and I was kinda in awe, it's all expensive but at least the window shopping is fun. Try and go down to the beaches and maybe Navy Pier for the touristy bit. You could get great pictures in Millenium Park and the Bean! It's touristy but really fun.

WELL, we will be visiting Wrigley Field. Nate is a baseball freak. 😉 And oh man oh man, I know I'm going to die of happiness on Michigan Ave. I've already looked up the Forever21. Seriously. I'm so excited to do all of the touristy stuff. The Bean is like the only thing I know about, so that's all Nate has heard about. He's like, "ALRIGHT. WE WILL VISIT THE BEAN, shut it!" 😉

Ha, but the Bean is really cool, especially with you loving to take pictures. You can do some really cool ones with reflections, etc. I'm not even a photography type person and I still took some awesome pictures there.
