Thrifting and finding a super good clearance deal = my favorite! I’m not really sure what my style is these days.. but I’m having fun playing around with it and feeling a little more like ME in what I’m wearing. Warped Tour heart, coffee shop soul vibes? ✨😆

I think sometime between becoming a mom, working, I think sometime between becoming a mom, working, keeping up with a house, and trying to take care of everyone else… I forgot to ask myself what I actually like.

So lately I’ve been paying attention.

The clothes I want to wear.

The hobbies I want to try.

The spaces I want to create.

The things that make me feel like myself.

Maybe this is exactly what your late 30s are for. Not becoming someone new.. but remembering who you are.✨

I still just sit and stare at them in disbelief sometimes.. my twin babies.. my last babies.. and somehow they’ve been here for 4 whole years. If you’re a twin mom, you know that the time passes different. The early stages are a blur in a way I don’t even know how to explain. It makes it all a bit more bittersweet.

I love you Bennett & Everett! 💙💙

What I Wore · June 27, 2012

On Broadway

On Broadway

I gave a sneak peak into this outfit post when I put up photos from our hula hooping fun weekend before last. I bought this crop top while we were in San Francisco and I’ve been wearing it so many different ways. Paired with my high-waisted blue shorts and braided sandals it made the perfect Sumer outfit for patio-sitting (and hula hooping). It’s hard to tell, but the front of it is a lace material that’s a bit sheer! It’s kind of an illusion though because it’s pretty hard to even tell. It was perfect for a trend I’ve been a little self conscious to try!

Not all trends are great- and I don’t typically gravitate towards fashion like that anyway. It’s easy to be influenced by things that are in-style , of course, but I’ve always liked what I like regardless. If you’ve read my blog for very long you’ll know that I don’t post photos of high-fashion runway shows and that sort of thing. It’s not that I don’t like any of it, but real people aren’t wearing that stuff so it’s really more of an art that you either like or dislike based on personal taste than it is something to incorporate into daily life. Right? But I do like playing with new prints, textures, and colors that come down the line every season. Lace, high-waisted shorts/skirts, and polka dots? Count me in. And let’s not forget vintage anything. As a style blogger, if you’re not wearing your mom’s handmade dresses from high school – you better head to Goodwill and at least pretend you are. ;] I’m just kidding of course, but if it is “trendy” to like vintage then I’ll gladly take that title because – I like what I like!

I’m Wearing: Sheer Lace Top, High-Waisted shorts, & belt via Forever21, Rose Painter’s Studs c/o Poshlocket, vintage R. Tennesmed Sweden necklace, and braided sandals from Target.

Are there any trends that you love but are a little on edge to try out? What about wearing styles that are a little overplayed – do you care?

I am loving all the lace and polka dots lately, too! And mint-colored things. 🙂

I'm actually a little annoyed with the sheer shirt trend, because I hate having to wear another layer underneath it in the summer but I also don't generally like my bra showing – the shirt you have here is actually perfect, because you can't tell right away that it's kind of sheer.

Oh yes- MINT everything! I left that one out. 🙂

I’ve been pretty annoyed by the sheer shirt trend too for the most part. I don’t want to buy half a shirt .. $20 for something that requires me to buy something else to go under it? No. But this one was kind of that perfect in between and it was cheap so I didn’t feel cheated! Plus – I have a bra the exact color of my blue shorts and that was a sign that I needed to try it out. 😉

It looks great. I have red hair too and I have been gravitating towards bright blues too. This top is a good about off see-through. Not too much at all.
