On our way to hang out with a few friends after work on Friday we stopped off at Ashland : The Henry Clay Estate to grab a few photos. They had already locked the gate (which basically just keeps you from driving in) so I left Nate at the entrance and hauled my tripod and camera on to the grounds. This tree was not visible from the road at all, so I got quite a surprise as I made my way around looking for a good place to set up! So gorgeous, isn’t it? I really need to go back and focus more on the estate and the history of Ashland. I would love to take a tour of the mansion sometime. It’s funny how many interesting places there are to explore right in your own city that you just never think about. I know we’ll end up going back here a lot this Summer – the gardens are at the top of my list of locations to photograph!

This has been a perfect weekend and it’s gone by so fast! I’m beyond excited for the week ahead though. I have to be at work at 7:30AM starting Monday. I usually wake up at 7:30AM so this will probably be a grueling transition. I’m not looking forward to that aspect of it! However, these changes couldn’t have come at a better time because no matter how exhausted or frustrated I feel – I will be able to think about leaving Friday afternoon for a 3 day weekend with Nate in San Francisco. I’m the kind of person who works well with a reward in sight, so I’ll be using the trip as my focus all week!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone! I’ve been lazying around in my pajamas all morning, so I think it’s time for me to hit the showers! My clean, clean shower. ;] I spent yesterday hard at work making sure that we have a clean home to return when we get back from our trip. There is nothing I hate worse than coming home to a dirty house. We just have to keep it up for ONE week. I have faith in us!
