What a crazy past week, weekend, and start to a NEW week this has been. I’ve literally been so swamped! It’s been really frustrating because I’m the kind of person that definitely needs their alone time each day and to just have time to breathe (and blog!). That hasn’t been happening. The weekend was spent doing fun things, but when you’re exhausted it’s hard to enjoy those too! My niece Bella had her birthday party Saturday (she’s 5!), we held a meeting for my FIL’s 5k Walk/Run coming up in June (so much to do!) directly after the party, and we had a little Super Bowl shindig at our place on Sunday! It was a jam packed weekend. The beginning of my work week was anything but smooth. I think it’s safe to say that Monday was the worst work day I’ve had maybe ever. But, that’s another story!

This was my Super Bowl Sunday outfit. Have you all ever seen me in jeans? Maybe like once! I wanted to be a little less dressy and comfy to hang out in the house preparing food and sitting cozied up with all of our friends on the couch for the game. BUT, you know me- I couldn’t just throw on a t-shirt. Paired with my dark denim Lucky Brand jeans this flowy top (in my favorite color) was perfect to jazz up the ensamble a little! I belted it with a pretty scarf (in my second favorite color) and a cardigan (both of which were Christmas presents from Nate) to pull the whole look together. The top would have been a teensy bit cold for this time of year on it’s own! I think I may have to do a little follow up and show you all how I would wear it for a dressier occasion and also in to the office! It’s just so versatile. I definitely envision a Summer look involving a flirty up-do to show off the key-hole in the back. It will also be my inspiration to go the gym and work on my arms. *nods*
Speaking of going to the gym. We had so much food at our little Super Bowl get-together. It’s come to my attention that we (our friends included) do not know how to properly calculate the amount of food we will actually need. There were nine of us, and we could have fed twice as many people with what we had. Ha! I’m definitely not complaining though. It was all delicious, but I should probably get to the gym soon. The funny thing? I just dyed my hair, and the red sticks around for a while in places that it shouldn’t be. Putting my hair up to go to the gym is going to be pretty tacky looking for a while! =x
I need to get to bed pretty soon so that I can take a quick shower and dive into my book! By the way, I’ve read every comment on the book club post and will definitely be setting up a little space on Goodreads.com for it. Thank you to those of you who suggested that! I bought a planner a little bit ago and I’m working on getting a schedule laid out for blogging. My job makes it nearly impossible to schedule anything because the only set time I have is the time that I go in. Having a planner will help me to keep up with everything, including the book club and the gym! I’m also using it to budget – which is another topic I hope to introduce very soon! Goodnight!
