Alone Time & Being Laughed At

I have come to appreciate alone time so much more than I used to. This isn’t a knock against Nate or any of my friends of course. And I would still hate to be alone the majority of the time, but when I do get a little time to myself I really do enjoy it. My entire morning oh wait, it’s 3:30PM– my entire day has consisted of staying in my PJs, snuggling down in my plushy couch, and playing on the internet. And while I feel a little greasy and unproductive I realize that I did call Sprint for the second time and finally got our bill fixed (i will not be ripped off!), and I did make a quiche, and I have successfully kept Biscuit alive another day (a full time job in itself). Thankfully she’s asleep right now. On her back with her feet in the air and twitching, I might add. I kind of can’t explain how funny and adorable that really looks, but every time I get up to try and snap a photo she wakes up and laughs at me because I can’t share this with anyone. What? You’ve never heard a bunny laugh? Well she’s laughing on the inside, trust me. Kind of like when she hides under the couch and refuses to be captured, when the fire department is about to be here in two seconds and I just feel like it would be impolite to have an empty animal cage sitting open on the floor …sans-animal? I just don’t think I’d feel super safe walking into a strangers house and realizing their caged animal is on the loose. But yeah- she was laughing then too.

So I did catch her because she finally surrendered, not because I won. Biscuit – 384, Me- 0. If you thought cats did what they wanted, you were wrong. Bunnies do what they want on a much higher level. And the fire department did come. Our fire alarms decided to go off for absolutely no reason for upwards of 15 minutes last night and after trying every thing we could think of to disable them I gave up, tried to find a fire department number that was not 911 to no avail, and ended up calling 911 because there is no such thing as a fire department non-emergency number… because you probably shouldn’t call unless you’re on fire, which is an emergency. And guess what? The alarm stopped the second the dispatcher answered the phone. Ha. Technology laughs at me, too. Just as I told her that I didn’t think I needed anyone to come out they went off again for half a second and so I said, what the hell.. send them. So they came.. and they looked.. and they said to change the batteries. And I’m like- but, they’re supposed to chirp when they need batteries and they couldn’t really explain it but that was their advice because our house was clearly not on fire. Whatever. They could’ve at least provided us with some batteries so we didn’t have to go to Meijer at 10:30pm. That is way past my bedtime. ;]

But I’m a liar because I was still awake at 1am painting my nails, watching Bad Girls Club (now you’re laughing at me), and chatting up Brittany on the phone for an hour.

I think I need to shower now.
