People do not know me but I will pretend. 😜

Reading that description makes me want to get some creativity flowing in this space and on my blog again, though! I’ve just been working and mom’ing - but I miss creating!

What I Wore · August 26, 2013

Secret Beach

Secret Beach
Whew! I’ve been buried at work for the past couple of weeks and have been living/breathing conference calls and spreadsheets. Sounds like fun, right?! A project that was kind of my baby just came to an end and I received the “Great job!” confirmation that I desperately needed to hear! I feel about 1000lbs lighter this weekend, let me tell ya!

I’ve been promising photos from our beach vacation for like, weeks. The fact that I have actually had tons of blogging material saved up and no time to utilize it has been driving me nuts. This particular evening in Siesta Key was a favorite from the trip! We found two different secluded areas on the beach to take pictures. This dress is one of very few items of clothing that I’ve purchased this summer. I went to Marshalls to look for *a* dress for the Maiedae Mixer a few months ago and walked out of the store with 3 dresses – this minty dress by Pinky is one of them! I’d feel guilty, but all three of them cost the same price as any ONE of the dresses I looked at purchasing in any other store! It fits me like a dream and the flower cut out detail is the perfect little accent to a solid color dress. There is a butterfly pattern on the material but honestly I didn’t even notice that until I got home. I still can’t believe I didn’t notice it in the store but you really can’t even tell unless you see it up close in the right light. I honestly wish it came in several different colors because it is the perfect length for me and my long legs!

And this bag – this bag. I’ve never been much of a designer handbag kind of girl, but this vintage Coach bag has stolen my heart. My Mom volunteers at a vintage boutique in my home town and while I was home we went in so she could show me around and I saw it – love at first sight. She offered to get it for me with her store credit and discount as an early birthday present. What a great birthday, right?!

I would love to be able to stop in at the beach for outfit photos on our way out to dinner or wherever just any old time! That would never get old. We would know to beware of baby stingrays next time though! We looked down in the water during one of our shots together and there he was- right where we had just been standing in the water. Eek!! I grew up in Florida and I have never been stung by any type of sea life. That would have been a brutal first time!

I’m feeling rejuvenated and ready to go into this week! Outfit posts have been sort of non-existant around here over the past few months. I’m finally starting to feel inspired again when it comes to remixing items I already have and thrifting new key pieces – hooray! It’s about time!

Outfit Details:

Dress: Marshalls
Sandals: Target
Bag: Vintage Coach from Still Chic Boutique
Earrings: Forever 21
Necklace: Aria (St. Armands Circle in Sarasota, FL)
