Brain Dump List

I have so much to share with you all! I feel like I haven’t really given any updates as to what is really going on in our lives lately. So I’m going to make a little list to kind of squish it all into one post!

1.) My parents are coming up to stay with us around the 18th until a little after Christmas/the first of the year. I hope their dogs don’t pee all over my house because it’s covered in bunny scent. Also going to have to keep Biscuit safely locked in our room maybe?

2.) Brittany and I went out of town to shop at Forever21 and H&M a few weekends ago and I now have a pair of black denim high-waisted jeans, 3 skinny belts, a giant black bow belt (that makes me look like a present), and four dresses to share with you. I got all of that for around $100. Merry Christmas to me.

3.) All of our Christmas decor is up except for a ginormous wreath that my Sis-In-Law (Erin) gave us to hang on our one giant front window. We just have to get a ladder, extension cord, and some kind of hanging device… and I need to exchange the lights I bought from Wal-Mart that only HALF light up. *shakes fist* I knew I hated Wal-Mart.

4.) Biscuit is crazier then ever. She can now completely scale the baby gate at the stairs so we’ve basically given up on keeping her off them and live daily in fear that she will commit suicide off of the balcony. We just watch her closely when she goes up there. She also thinks we put the tree up as some sort of cozy home made just for her to lay under. New terrors include chewing paint off the corners of the walls, chewing all of the buttons off of our remote controls, and chewing the under part of the couch. I absolutely have to make an appointment for her to be spayed, SOON. Supposedly it will calm her chewing insanity. She also needs her two vaccinations because I’m paranoid she’s going to catch a bunny disease and die. Because that’s literally what happens- they just drop dead. *shudder*

5.) Tuesday we will have lived in our house for six months. I didn’t remember this- but I asked Nate the Human Calendar and he told me off the top of his head. But yes- I can’t believe it! The time has flown by. But I’m excited that we’re at the six month mark because our builder will call soon and make an appointment to come back and fix any issues we’ve had with the house. And I have a *kind of* extensive list. The biggest problem is the stairs. They are literally separating from the wall- as in there’s a big crack going all the way from the top to the bottom where they were sealed into the wall. Which I’m sure just needs caulking and painting – but I don’t feel that we should have to do that. Also we’ve noticed the cabinet by the dishwasher just like… moves.. like it’s not properly attached- as well as some of the counters. Little things.. but (and I don’t care if this is OCD) they WILL fix the crooked light fixture in the guest bathroom and the loose floor board in the entry. When you pay for a brand new house you expect it to be put together right… but when you find beer cans in the backyard during building I guess you shouldn’t be surprised that your light fixtures are crooked..

6.) It snowing like crazy around here. Our back yard is a frozen tundra. Meaning? I wont make Nate climb on the icy porch roof to hang the wreath today because I like him in one piece.

7.) I’ve got to quit buying crap for myself when I Christmas shop. So far I have two things for Nate and one more big present to get, one thing for Ashley but I want to get her something else little, and nothing for Brittany, Kristie, my Parents, or my In-Laws. Shame!

8.) I’ve started crocheting again- but I only bought two spools (is that the right word?) of yarn and I went through one of them in one night and it’s about the width of a scarf. So at $5 a spool this could be an expensive blanket. Lolz.

9.) Next weekend is going to be awesome.

10.) Nate and I are planning a trip for sometime in the beginning of the year I think- when it’s not deathly cold- to Chicago! I think we’ve pretty much decided on Chicago. It’s part of our Christmas present from his parents and I’ve never been to a big ol’ city like that (insert country twang here) so I’m super excited. You think I’m joking about the whole big city thing but I’m not. I don’t feel that Orlando counts… maybe Cincinnati does?

And there are a few new pictures over on Flickr so click through from the sidebar on the left! I’ll leave you with one or two. 😉

Biscuit's antics totally crack me up. I love reading about her!

And I would totally ask them to fix those things, too. It's cliche but houses really aren't built the same way at all. It's disappointing how rushed they sometimes are & the corners people try to cut.

I seriously can't believe you guys got that much snow and we didn't get any. None. It barely flurried. I'm a little jealous but at the same time, I like to be able to drive and not have an anxiety attack every time I put on the breaks.

Well, Rachie beat me too it, but yeah — you guys have a TON of snow, and we have had…one or two flurries (as in two flakes total) and that's it! I feel like a big snow is coming soon though…

Ha, I have been so tempted while Christmas shopping to grab stuff for me, but I am trying to hold off!
