The weather around these parts has been a little .. well.. unusual! We’ve been in and around the 60s with a few colder days mixed in with highs around 50. Not quite chilly enough for tons of layers but perfect for cardigans, tights, and boots! I got my hands on these cute little grey corduroy boots right after I got back from my trip to Gatlinburg and I’ve been living in them since. I can’t tell you how long I’ve been wanting grey boots. I have a weird tendency to gravitate toward cardigans in cozy slate and charcoal colors, not to mention my favorite sweater tights are grey! So it’s only fitting that I have a pair of boots to be all matchy, matchy! I guess I was a little afraid that having more options would stump my creativity.. you know? Only having a few colors to work with forces you out of your box of what “matches”. It forces you to pick up a brown skinny belt to layer over a grey sweater that will in turn tie in with the color of your brown boots. Don’t get me wrong though. I’m so excited to have more variety in my closet! And there’s always the creative outfits that stem from half of the laundry being dirty to help me along…. ;] (Not kidding, don’t do your laundry and just see what you end up putting together!)
I’ve had this cardigan from Forever21 for quite a few years. It’s made by Heritage81, which is why it is covered in H’s. But um? In my head, it was made special just for me. My maiden name is Hart for crying out loud! A grey sweater covered in hearts and H’s? Heck yes! It was on the 60% off wrack or something crazy like that, too. (Because not everyone wants an H covered sweater, I guess.) Luckily, my last initial is still an H! Actually.. I got to keep all of the letters in my name except for the T! … I’m easily amused, but I still think that’s pretty cool. Five dollar jeans are pretty cool too. These are definitely my $5 jeans from Target. Can’t beat that!
I wore this outfit last Saturday on a UK game day. We lost. I didn’t wear blue today.. and guess what? WE WON. We won against Tennessee. We broke a 26 year loosing streak to Tennessee. I’m not crazy about football or any sport for that matter, but this meant the world to my husband and I’m super happy about it! He went with his dad as usual, and I’m just really happy that they got to go to such an important and memorable game together. It’s things like this, or any thing that you enjoy and share an interest in with someone you love, that make such good memories. I’m trying to always remember to cherish little things!

I hope everyone enjoyed a great family filled Thanksgiving! =)

I absolutely love grey! It's my favorite neutral! My husband is a big OU fan so I know what you mean about the football thing! It's not my favorite way to spend my time but I love spending the time with him while he watches!
PS I love the woodsy blog look you have going on!
I love these posts. I can’t wait till I have my own place and can do these.
