This past weekend I had the pleasure of hanging out with some wonderful local Kentucky bloggers! It was a fun mix of friends I’ve hung out with several times and ladies who I feel like I’ve known forever thanks to blogging and Instagram but just met for the very first time!

It was a super laid-back event where everyone could relax, enjoy the delicious food (baked potato bar – omg!), sip some yummy drinks, and mingle in Sarah’s beautiful new home. I knew plenty of the ladies there but felt very anxious that day and so I’ve replayed it in my head a few times since, hoping someone didn’t think I was being unfriendly. Toward the end of the event, I started to warm up in a group conversation and just feel a little bit more myself. Does anyone else get this way in situations like this? It can be so frustrating to just want to be yourself and not be able to push past it. I even get shy about taking vlogs or photos – IN A ROOM FULL OF BLOGGERS. Hilarious! 😉

I love forcing myself out of my comfort zone though. It’s important to me to push past my awkwardness and make things happen even when it isn’t easy for me! I had the best time meeting new people and enjoying some girl time! If you’re ever on the fence about going to a meet up, a conference, whatever it may be – regardless of your hobbies or job – I am here to tell you to DO IT.
