People do not know me but I will pretend. 😜

Reading that description makes me want to get some creativity flowing in this space and on my blog again, though! I’ve just been working and mom’ing - but I miss creating!

Thanks for being here! 🫶🏻✨

Three Months with Landon

Landon - 3 Months Old
I never got around to blogging when Landon turned two months old and then right after that we ended up in the hospital for 11 days. It took me a while to get my bearings back a bit! But I’m happy to say that I took his 3 month pictures! Still a little late but not by much.

Don’t you love this easel art I had custom made to write his little monthly updates on? It makes for a cute decoration in his room and is (obviously) such a good prop for his monthly photos.
Untitled
I know it’s probably super cliche but honestly every month has been my favorite month with him (minus the period of time spent in the hospital)! It’s so much fun to see him noticing new things and learning- discovering his hands, laughing more, rolling over! Every stage is more and more fun!

We have somewhat of a sleep routine down by now which is pretty nice! He gets a bath around 8 or 8:30PM, a little baby lotion massage, we put on his jammies, swaddle him, read to him and then I nurse him and put him down for the night at about 9PM. He’s still waking up pretty frequently to nurse but will go 3 or 4 hour stretches every now and then (and we rejoice). I’ve been transitioning him to his crib from the bassinet by our bed and he’s doing really well with it. When he wakes up I bring him to the bassinet so I don’t have to keep getting up. I’ve been making sure to soak up all of the snuggles possible because I know this time is fleeting. My absolute favorite time of day is early in the morning. He wakes up but it isn’t time to eat yet – he just wants to be held. So I put him on my chest and we sleep for about an hour before it’s time to get up.

He’s the happiest baby! He loves to play on his little play mat and will stay there for 30-40 minutes just kicking, cooing, and laughing. He smiles nonstop and has started a new thing where he’ll do something and then immediately look at me like, “SEE WHAT I DID!”. He’s started noticing the TV and stares at it if its on (oh boy) and will giggle and “talk” to it if we play something he really likes (like Veggie Tales or Thomas). He’s starting to be really chatty and wants to tell us lots of stories! Especially when I put him in his bouncy seat in the bathroom while I take a shower- he has lots to say about that!

He has recently decided that bottles are not for him. He was switching back and forth just fine between nursing and a bottle… and then… a switch flipped in his brain and bottles became evil and not to be trusted. We didn’t realize how dire the situation really was until I left to do a Pure Romance party for a few hours and Nate ended up having to syringe feed him breast milk to get him to eat and stop screaming. Ooyyyy. I love nursing him but lawd have mercy. I really hope we can get this figured out!

All in all? I’m really enjoying this wild and ridiculous roller coaster ride called motherhood. It’s challenging and heartbreaking at times but most of the time it’s pretty great. (Read: the best thing I’ve ever done with my life.)
