On our way to Florida for vacation we made a little pit stop in Atlanta to take Ethan, our nephew, to see the Reds play the Braves. I’ve never spent any time in Atlanta, unless you count the hours spent sitting in traffic on the way to somewhere else. I wish we would have had a little more time to explore and hang out but we got into the city with just enough time to make it to the game. It was nice to take a breather and stretch our legs during the trip! Ethan had a big smile on his face the whole time and we were so happy to help him check another stadium off of his list of stadiums to visit! Being the super cool aunt and uncle is pretty perfect for us right now! =) After the game was over we drove straight through from Atlanta to Sarasota with only a few stops in between for iced coffee and snacks.
I stayed up all night while Nate drove and only dozed off a few times. We felt kind of crazy for driving straight through – but once we finally got where we were going it was worth it to have it all over with. It was the best feeling ever when the sun came up and we finally started to see signs for Bradenton/Sarasota! We took a nap almost as soon as we got in to town that morning around 8AM and when we woke up a few hours later we both thought it was AT LEAST 4 or 5 in the late afternoon – NOPE! It was only 11am. It definitely took us a few days to catch back up and feel normal. I’m starting to feel a little old now that I can’t just stay up all night and bounce right back. ;]
It’s hard to believe that we’ve been back to normal life for weeks now! Before we know it Christmas will be right around the corner and we’ll be back in Florida visiting my family! And by the way, sorry I’ve been a little quiet around here lately! I’m looking forward to getting caught up this week! Let’s make it a good one!
