A Party Dress

My 25th birthday was perfect, thanks to Nate! We went out for sushi, walked around downtown, took outfit pictures, and met up with friends for a bit! The meeting up with friends part was supposed to be a surprise, but I was totally on to him. ;] Sorry Nate! I wore my “party dress”. I’ve had this dress for years and have only worn it a handful of times! I wore it all day – even to work! Everyone deserves to feel dolled up on their birthday, right?! I’m sure my coworkers were side-eyeing me all day.. but I think they’re used to my quirkiness by now!



The owl belt really made this dress work! I was never a fan of it all being one solid color with nothing to break it up. As it turns out I just never had the right belt – because now I love it! I can see these two pieces becoming a staple in my Fall wardrobe. There are so many tights, boots, cardigans, and denim jacket combinations to be made! These little green flats went perfectly with this outfit for a bright pop of color! They’re satin, just like the strips of ribbon around the bottom of the dress. I like getting matchy, matchy with my fabric!



Our downtown area is so beautiful, isn’t it? The fountain picture close to the top was taken in Triangle Park – where Nate proposed to me! We love going here, walking around, and people watching. There’s a huge grassy area to hang out it in that’s perfect for blanket sitting. I feel so blessed to live somewhere so pretty and so full of life! It’s such a perfect combination of big city life paired with a small town feel. This last photo was taken in front of our courthouse. These fountains are super fun to play in because they shoot from the ground with alternating pressure. A fun game? Seeing who can run completely across when they die down for a few seconds! A few of my friends have ended up walking around soaked after playing! ;] I stick to watching..
