This has been a pretty great weekend. Nate and I went out this afternoon and it was just so … nice. We perused the shelves at Half Price Books, looked (for the millionth time) at the cube shelving/storage in Target that I want for the living room – but didn’t buy it, looked for a rug to go in our living room – but I didn’t like anything in Marshall’s, and enjoyed a yummy early dinner at Cheddar’s. Days like this are my favorite. I like wandering around with Nate pretty much anywhere. I bought the prettiest book- yes, the book is pretty. It had a really old and torn dust jacket on it, so I lifted it up to see what it looked like underneath. It has really interesting details etched into it. I contemplated buying it simply because it was pretty, and then Nate told me that it was actually a really good book. So I bought it. Along with another by the same author, John Steinbeck. I honestly and shamelessly haven’t read a ton of books over the years, but I’ve heard of both of these, East Of Eden and Grapes of Wrath, and that’s why I picked them up in the first place. I’m excited to finally make time for reading again, because I do love it so much!

I took these photos on Friday morning. I was so motivated that morning that I practically jumped out of bed at 5:50AM, ready to meet the day! If you know me- you know that is not like me. I’m not sure if it was because of my new “no caffeine after 3pm” rule finally starting to help me naturally go to bed, sleep well, and wake up like a normal person .. or if it was because it was Friday. All I know is that I haven’t felt that awake in a while! This skirt was given to me by a lady at work. She has given me all sorts of vintage clothes that she’s had since she was my age, and every time she comes in with a handful of skirts or dresses I get so excited! This skirt is a little long for my taste- but the high waist button closure makes up for it. I would like to have it shortened just a tad, though!
My pretty bunny locket would not cooperate! I turned it around a hundred times while taking pictures but every time I moved, it flipped backwards again. Oh well! This fun little slap watch is from Francesca’s Collections. I adore it. I wear red with everything (obviously), so a red watch goes with everything. ;] I usually get irritated with clasps on watches and bracelets so if it takes me more than a few seconds to put on, I just wont ever wear it. The simplicity of being able to literally slap it on is perfect for someone who usually wakes up late for work!
