I think sometime between becoming a mom, working, I think sometime between becoming a mom, working, keeping up with a house, and trying to take care of everyone else… I forgot to ask myself what I actually like.

So lately I’ve been paying attention.

The clothes I want to wear.

The hobbies I want to try.

The spaces I want to create.

The things that make me feel like myself.

Maybe this is exactly what your late 30s are for. Not becoming someone new.. but remembering who you are.✨

I still just sit and stare at them in disbelief sometimes.. my twin babies.. my last babies.. and somehow they’ve been here for 4 whole years. If you’re a twin mom, you know that the time passes different. The early stages are a blur in a way I don’t even know how to explain. It makes it all a bit more bittersweet.

I love you Bennett & Everett! šŸ’™šŸ’™

How to Make Your Bedroom More Comfortable: Easy Updates Anyone Can Do

This blog post may contain affiliate links. Learn more.

Your bedroom should feel like the coziest place in your home, the one room where you can finally unwind after a long day with kids, chores, and real life happening all around you. But even though your bedroom is supposed to be your sanctuary, it doesn’t always feel as comfortable or relaxing as you want it to be.

The good news is that you don’t need a full makeover to turn things around. A few intentional updates can completely change the experience you have with your bedroom, and none of them require major time or effort.

Here are a few simple ways to create a softer, calmer, more comfortable space.

Refresh Your Bedding

The bed is the heart of the room, so it’s the best place to start. And while a good mattress matters, your bedding is what actually touches your skin and sets the tone for the whole space.

Upgrading to hotel duvets, breathable fabrics, and cozy layers can make your bed feel instantly more luxurious. Even something as simple as replacing old pillows or adding a textured throw can make crawling into bed at the end of the day feel like a treat.

Choose Comforting Colors

The colors you use throughout your bedroom play a bigger role in relaxation than most people realize. Color impacts your mood, so choosing comforting colors can help your mind and body settle more easily at night.

Think soft blues, warm neutrals, or gentle pastels—shades that bring calm instead of chaos. If you still love a little personality, add pops of color through artwork, pillows, or accessories so your room feels soothing and stylish.

Layer Textures for Warmth

One of the easiest ways to upgrade your bedroom is by layering different textures. It adds warmth, visual interest, and that cozy, lived-in feeling every relaxing bedroom needs.

Try mixing:

  • throw pillows
  • soft blankets
  • quilted bedspreads
  • knit throws
  • plush rugs

These layers make the room feel intentional and inviting, even on days when life is chaotic and you just need a soft space to land.

At the end of the day, your bedroom should support rest, peace, and comfort. You don’t need a renovation, a giant budget, or a full weekend to make that happen. A few small changes—better bedding, comforting colors, and layered textures—can completely transform how you feel with your bedroom.

It’s your space to rest, breathe, and recharge… and you deserve a version of it that feels like a retreat.
