I have been reflecting a lot on 2017 and how I can be better in 2018. One way I would like to be better in 2018 is by finding different ways to give back. When I found out about the No Baby Unhugged Program at Meijer, I knew this was a simple way I could give back while also providing my family with wonderful products that meet our needs. Win, win!I’ll never forget our first diapering experience in the hospital when Landon was born. They provided us with the tiniest newborn Huggies Snug & Dry diapers. They have soothed and protected him from day one. We have loved the wetness indicator that lets us know when it’s time for a diaper change along with the 4 layers to absorb moisture quickly offering 12 hours of protection! Plus, they’re so cute with the Disney designs featuring Mickey Mouse! That wetness indicator was a game changer as a new parent and really helped us to feel like Landon was comfortable at all times. Now that he is older, we’ve also used the Huggies Little Movers and we like those equally as well! These are more designed for active babies and have a contoured shape and Double Grip Strips that hold the diaper in place during play time! We use them for active play needs.
Diapers are such a necessity, right? It’s difficult for me to think about a situation where we would not be able to provide them for Landon and yet that is a reality for so many people. In September, the National Diaper Bank Network and founding sponsor Huggies announced a study, Diaper Need and Its Impact on U.S. Families, revealing that one-in-three U.S. families (36%) continue to struggle with diaper need. That is A LOT of people struggling to provide enough diapers to keep their babies and toddlers clean, dry, and healthy.
Over the last 5 years Meijer and Huggies have partnered to donate a total of 1 million diapers to help support those in need. This is the result of a larger program last fall where for every pack of Huggies purchased, Meijer would donate $1 and Huggies would donate a day’s worth of diapers to the National Diaper Bank Network. This week, the total donation of 400,000 diapers and $10,000 was donated to the organization, a portion of which was also given to the Metropolitan Detroit Diaper Bank – a local organization that supports families in diaper need.
It makes me feel so good to purchase Huggies products at Meijer knowing that both organizations have done so much to support the National Diaper Network, helping so many families that could not otherwise provide diapers to help their babies to thrive. If you are personally wondering how you can help – there are so many ways! You can get involved year round by donating your Huggies Rewards points hosting a diaper drive , and/or volunteering/donating to a local diaper bank .
