Over the weekend Nate drove me out into an area of our neighborhood that I’d never ventured through before to show me how perfect it would be for outfit photos. Thanks to his long distance running I now have quite a list of perfect (close to home) photo shoot locations that are sort of tucked away and hidden. I love that he’s always thinking of me and how he can help me with my hobbies, even while he’s working on his own! This little tree covered road made for a great place to shoot during Golden Hour. There was just the right amount of light streaming in through the canopy to add a bit of glow to the yellow and orange leaves that are just starting to appear in our trees. I keep waiting to walk outside one morning to beautiful red, gold, and orange leaves.. but the green of summer is hanging on tight! I handed over my camera and told Nate to “be artsy” as I laughed and ran out into the road. We hopped in and out of the road to avoid being run over and came up with quite a blooper reel. But out of all of the photos of funny faces and shoes flying off (that happened!) came these. This turned out to be such a beautiful location and Nate did such a great job on the photos. I always feel like we have to make plans to GO somewhere to take good outfit photos and with our busy schedules that is usually almost impossible. I think I’m just rambling now but what I really mean to say is that I’m starting to realize how much beauty is right in our own backyard. It kind of goes hand in hand with my focus on being thankful for what I already have, right at my finger tips. I’m always dreaming of bigger and better things!
This peach and white lace dress was so fun to pair up with more casual pieces, like a denim jacket and my favorite mustard scarf. There was just something about the different textures that made this outfit work! I bought this dress from Marshalls for The Maiedae Mixer and I haven’t worn it since. It was a little on the chilly side to be out and about with bare legs but I decided to enjoy the option while it lasts! I feel like fleece lined leggings and real pants are going to be mandatory here soon – so I better take advantage of just being “slightly chilly” while I can! I snagged these adorable studded leopard flats on Saturday night and they went perfectly with the outfit – especially with my leopard print heart earrings! I don’t think I’ll ever grow out of my love for leopard print and I expect that these flats will stay with me until they are worn to the point of having holes in them, just like my last 3 pairs! I’m a little crazy about all of the things embellished with studs/spikes right now so these were too good to pass up!
