Just as I hit publish on my last uplifting and happy-go-lucky blog post/life update I kind of slipped into a bit of a slump! Sometimes I start to feel really anti-blogging and I’m all, MY BLOG DOESN’T OWN ME and WHATEVER, I’M TAKING A BUBBLE BATH INSTEAD OF EDITING PHOTOS. Ask Nate, I say these things out loud. Oh first world problems. Honestly though, blogging is a lot of work when you put in over 40 hours a week at your “real job” where you also happen to be sitting behind a computer screen typing all day. Coming home to get on another computer and type some more just sounds.. well.. unappealing. What I’m trying to say with all of this blabbering is – I’ve been a bad blogger and I need to fix that.
Today I received the business cards I designed and ordered through VistaPrint in the mail, just in time for The Maiedae Mixer on Saturday! YES – it is this Saturday! This is going to be an unbelievably fun event and such a great way to connect with other bloggers and get my name out there. If there was ever a time to put my best foot forward around here – it’s now. I’m still in the process of discovering exactly how I want to grow in this space and expand from a business perspective. I love so many different types of blogs and I constantly find myself wanting to go in about a thousand different directions – photography, handmade, DIY, etc. I am beyond excited to hang out with two ladies who really know their stuff when it comes to taking dreams and turning them into reality.
I’m obsessed with this little denim crop top. Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly remix my dresses any differently I go and add the simplest piece to my wardrobe and – TA DA! – tons of new outfits. You may get sick of seeing the denim crop top and I’m not sorry. By the way, those white polka dots are actually little hearts – I included the giant (scary close) photo so you can see the detail a little better. It doesn’t get any better than polka dot hearts! Or I guess it does since I only paid $10 for such a perfect summer staple. I swear, I never think to shop at Pac Sun but I always end up in their store and walk out with the best deals!

Girl, I feel the same way when I pull my laptop onto my lap at night or start to think to hard about my blog. I also tend to get angry and oppositional at all the rules I see spouted (e.g., blog every day, tweet your links, stick to concise topics, don't make your posts long). I always have had a problem with people telling me how to do things 😉
It was such an amazing experiment.The time you spent in dressing up yourself was really worth it.You look good and beautiful.
