What I Wore · December 16, 2012

Rosette

Rosette
This skirt is an oldie but a goodie! Remember it here from our engagement shoot? The poor little rosettes have started to come apart a bit. I’ve literally pinned one of them in place but have yet to actually sew it back together. I’m just wearing it around with the pin it! I got really, really excited when I went to post this outfit because this skirt is the color of the season right? Oxblood, right?! Or was that for Fall? (I’m obviously in the know!) Don’t worry, friends – I’m just kidding. Every year I see a new term come out for the word “maroon” and nothing has made me cringe harder than “oxblood”. Just … no. I don’t like it. I’m just big on calling things what they are, we don’t need to get fancy.

This stripped little top is actually a dress! It’s always been a teensy bit short and form fitting to fit the definition of a “dress”! It works wonderfully as a top though and it also has pockets, which become secret (and unusable) pockets when worn under things! So exciting. (=

Today was such a great day! I ended up meeting a friend for a little impromptu photo shoot and it was a lot of fun! I absolutely can’t wait to show you some of the photos she took! I felt so special/spoiled having a photographer take my photo and um, I could get used to that! It’s a hundred times more fun having someone to collaborate with vs. going out somewhere by yourself with a tripod. Especially when that someone is a female your own age, who reads the same blogs that you do! She definitely knew what I was going for, haha! Thanks Erika, I had such a fun time hanging out with you!

I love dresses with pockets in them now! (But they have to be out for me to love them!) ;]

I'm wearing the same dress over jeans today as a shirt. I like the pockets when they're out! 😉

Such a cute look! And I have to agree about "oxblood"…that's not a fancy name at all! Just kind of icky. 😉

I just came across your blog and it's so cute! I love your style, and your hair (I've toyed with the idea of dying my own the same color!).

Love this outfit – that cape is so cute:)

PS: I was not meaning that in the "YOLO" sort of way, I mean that in the "normal people who say that phrase" sort of way. Haha.
