Embracing The Cold

After I got off of work yesterday I decided I wanted to take outfit photos, so I decided to play around with my camera in the backyard snow a little. I’m just so tired of being inside all of the time. I’m extremely excited for warmer days because I feel if I’ve been able to stay as motivated as I have been with outfits and 365 photos during this time of year when my mood feels on the low side- I can only imagine how much more creative I’ll feel once it warms up a bit! We have some perfect locations near where we live and I can’t wait to explore photos opportunities that reach further than my backyard. As lovely as it is with the mess of construction equipment and all!

I have a lot of ideas for the warmer months in the way of content! I want to really shine a light on our city and share a bit about some of the places we enjoy and like to visit. At the same time I’m hoping to uncover a few hidden gems (locally owned, and otherwise!) around here because I truly feel that we haven’t explored enough! In other words, I kind of want to play tourist in our own city! Kind of like Tieka and her Husband do in their home state! I’ve felt really inspired by that because I’m not from here, didn’t grow up here- so I think it’d be really interesting for me. We kind of did that here, and I had so much fun that day. =)

I’m really getting so much more comfortable with my camera because I’m using it so much lately. I’m finding myself only using manual settings and if I’m lucky enough to have daylight to work with I don’t have any need to tweak anything in Lightroom. Our 365 photos are more of an “art project” for me, so I don’t mind adding/editing there. But I like my outfit pictures to come out as fresh as possible, if that makes sense? I definitely want to invest in the nikkor 55-200mm vr and also a lensbaby kit! But let’s not get ahead of myself..
