This week has been a pretty great one- can’t think of anything to complain about! But here we are again with one day left in the work week, headed into a wonderful weekend! And as I mentioned in my last post- we’ve got a pretty busy weekend scheduled involving dressing up and dancing the night away on a river boat cruise! Unfortunately this will be our last weekend in Cincinnati as we’ve known it for quite some time. Jackson and Kristie are moving and we wont be seeing them near as much. I’m sad, but- I’m thankful for all of the great times we’ve had with them there in Cincinnati! And now, we’re going to add one last great memory to the list! Can’t wait to make more in their new city, even if it is further away!
So this week I’m thankful for:

(some of my true friends, heeyyy.. obviously i had them in my wedding)
There are certain people in your life that you know you’ll always be friends with regardless of how often you talk or see each other. And when you get together you can have fun lounging on the couch or out and about having a great time. You can sort of grow apart for a while.. and then come back together when you need it most. And I love this- it’s genuine friendship. I used to kind of think of friendship as something that needed to be held onto very tightly, maybe due to a fear of losing people in my life. But more recently, as I’ve experienced some of that growing apart and growing closer again aspect- I sort of see it differently now. Instead of holding on for dear life, it’s just better to let go- and let it breathe. If it’s real, it isn’t going to go anywhere. =) I’m so thankful for my true friends- both here and in Florida!

I know I’ve talked about being thankful for Fall and how close we are to it- but today- I walked out of work and it smelled like Fall and I had to suppress the urge to dance through the parking lot to my car. There was a cool breeze and it just .. smelled like Fall! It’s hard to explain. But, today was the first day I’ve experienced that so I am definitely thankful! Yay! =)

Nate leaves early in the morning before I wake up and then I don’t see him all day until after work. He makes a point to wake me up just a little bit when he leaves and lay over top of me and hug me and kiss my face for at least a minute before saying bye. I love this and it makes me not feel so alone when I wake up and he’s gone. He also text messages me when I wake up each morning with a really upbeat, “Good morning Wife!” text message. It’s always different though and I wait anxiously to see what he will text me. And then, I let him know when I’ve arrived safely at work. And we text throughout the day on our breaks. This communication is key- in my opinion! It’s just little reminders all day that we miss each other and are thinking of the other one. I’m super thankful for our little routines!
So, have any of you started your own Thankful Thursdays? Leave a comment and a link in the comments if you have! I’d love to read them. =)

<3 x a million!
awww the daily texting is adorable.
Neil and I text throughout our day as well. I too think it’s a key to a great marriage. Love you!
I think the friendship you have with your bff is so precious! You girls always seem like you're having so much fun together and it makes me think of Heather and I. Fall in Florida is a joke, but I'm ready for it to get here! And I love reading your blog so much that you inspired me to make my own! I have actually been keeping up with it and doing my own thankful Thursdays. 🙂
Aw, I think the same thing of you and Heather when I see pictures of the two of you. 😀 And you're right.. there really is no "Fall" in Florida. I never realized how deprived we were! I'm hoping our Winter is a bit more mild than it was last year because when it get's miserably cold- that's when I'd trade everything (including our beautiful Fall season) in life to be home in Florida. Haha!
And I'm so glad you started a blog! I started following you on Google Reader after I saw your romper! 🙂 Love it! Yay for Thankful Thursdays!
I was so inspired by your Thankful Thursday that I started my very own…Sunday Funday. I reflect back on my week and list things that made me smile and just happy in general. It really does make life a little sweeter.

PS: you live in FL? me tooo!!!
Yay! I’m so glad that you created your own version of it! I’ve been reading yours!
And I used to live in Florida, that’s where I’m from. 🙂 But, I live in Kentucky now because this is where my Husband grew up. Can’t say that I miss the heat! I do miss the beach, though.
My best friend Lauren has lived at least 3 hours away for the past three or four years, and yet we’re closer than ever. We learned how to deal with the distance. We don’t talk or see each other as often as we’d like but we still love each other and pick up where we left off.
It’s so sweet that you and Nate are in communication all day, I love that he wakes you up! My favourite minutes of the morning are when I get completely ready and then climb back in bed with Shaun until I HAVE to leave.
Hope you have a great weekend in Cinncy! Are you going to wear your new dress?
It’s weird how that happens, isn’t it? Ashley and I lived states apart for years but our friendship grew and grew! And even now that we live close if we go a while without seeing each other I’ve realized that it’s not a big deal, although I still enjoy seeing her as much as possible! 😉
And yess ma’am I am wearing my new dress.. and that is probably the only place I’ll ever have to wear it. lol. But it was only $5 right? So I think it was worth it. 😉
I def. feel the same way about friendships. And I’m lucky because I’m kind of a hermit in some ways & my true friends are really understanding/accepting of this.
I can’t WAIT for Fall either. When it comes, let’s go to Starbucks & then take Everly to the park!
Yesss! 😀 I could never turn down Starbucks, a cute baby, and a walk in the wonderful Fall air at the park!
And, I think I’m kind of turning into a hermit as well now that I have a house. :\ I’m just like ..well.. I could go to the world’s largest water balloon fight tonight (yep – tonight, here in Lex) or I could stay home on the couch with Nate and watch The Office on Netflix while snacking on a plate of pepperonis… yep.. Netflix and pepperoni it is! Kind of lame …
I love the way autumn smells and feels, too, and I miss it living in Northern California where the leaves don't change colors.
