Happy birthday to my SEVEN year old tiny bebe Cohe Happy birthday to my SEVEN year old tiny bebe Cohen! He rolled his eyes at me when I said it’s crazy that he went from 6…to 7! If you know you know.

Cohen is so sweet, kind, helpful, and smart. He loves building hot wheels tracks, setting up play areas for his little brothers, swimming, NASCAR, baseball, and never sitting still or being quiet… ever. 😆

I’m so thankful God chose me to be his mom! I love you Cohen!! Happy birthday!!

I have the MOST FUN any time I’m in front of Michelle’s camera. She is so fun to hang out with and it ends up being the best girl time + hair and makeup! Y’all know I have 4 kids and I work from home.. I don’t get to feel fancy very often! If you like laughing until your cheeks hurt (your face cheeks) and feeling 🔥 - book a shoot with her! 10/10 highly recommend.

Thank goodness for spring. 🌸 2026 has been kin Thank goodness for spring. 🌸

2026 has been kind of a weird, wild ride so far, but full of good things. I started a new job! And that has taken up a lot of my time (in a good way), so I’ve been a little bit quiet around here.

I’m trying as hard as I can to prioritize myself more these days. Finally went to the doctor and did some blood work. Turns out, I’m severely anemic. I’m hoping I’ll start feeling better and little more awake after I start my iron. 😅 Maybe I can lay off the coffee a little bit. (J/k)

I can’t believe it’s almost April after we went through 3 years of January, but I’m not mad about it! Ready to relax outside on patios with family/friends and enjoy our kiddos running around. We made it. 🖤

And he said this to his social media loving picture taking wife who is finally feeling the sunlight on her face after months of seasonal depression. 🤪 Might just turn this into a Nate appreciation account. Stay tuned.😉

Keeping Your Home Safe Without Making It Feel Like a Fortress

As a mom of four boys (including wild twin toddlers), I know a thing or two about chaos—and the need to keep your home feeling safe, calm, and secure (even if the inside looks like a tornado of toys just blew through). But let’s be real: I don’t want my house to look like Fort Knox. I want it to feel inviting, not intimidating. Good news is, you can totally beef up your home security without turning it into a prison yard.

Start with the Front Door (because obviously)

The front door is the first line of defense, and also the first impression—so it’s gotta do both jobs well.

If you haven’t looked into custom security storm doors yet, let me just say: game changer. They give you that extra layer of protection (because toddlers = door openers) while still letting in fresh air and sunlight. Plus, they actually look cute.

Not only do they help secure your home, but they also add a nice touch of curb appeal, which I love since I’m constantly trying to make the chaos look cute from the outside.

Light It Up

Motion-sensor lights are a must. They keep your entryways bright and those weird “what was that noise?!” moments to a minimum.

We’ve installed a few solar-powered ones and they’re great for when I’m carrying two kids, groceries, or a massive Target haul up the porch. Plus, they basically say, “Hey, we’re watching,” to anyone creeping around where they shouldn’t be.

Smart Locks for a Busy Brain

Between diapers, dinner, and deadlines, I do not need to be keeping up with keys. Truuuust me – I lose everything.

We haven’t made the swap yet but I have friends who swear by their smart locks. They can lock or unlock the door from their phone and even give guests a temporary code. No more spare keys under a flowerpot like it’s 1999. I can’t wait to swap our old deadbolt for a smart lock!

Smile! You’re on Camera

We added a video doorbell and a couple of outdoor cameras, and I swear it makes me feel 10x more relaxed. I can see who’s at the door without waking up the twins or panicking about unexpected visitors. If you want to feel a bit more at ease at home – being able to keep tabs on your home 24/7 with cameras is the way to go!

I’ve also caught a lot of funny footage of the kids playing outside with them! Multipurpose!

Don’t Forget the Windows

Even if your windows can’t just blow open, it’s still smart to add window sensors as part of your home security setup. They’ll alert you if anything shifts or breaks, and it’s one of those small upgrades that can make a big difference in how safe you feel in your home. Trust me – you don’t know how much you need them until you don’t!

The Dog Alarm..

We don’t have a dog at the moment but maybe we will one day when we don’t have quite so many toys and shoes on the floor in danger of being chewed AND I am getting a full night of sleep regularly!

Most people who know me know that I’m more of a cat person (don’t judge me …) but dogs really are amazing little protectors. If you’re in a place to bring one home, their bark alone is enough to scare off most unwanted guests. I have a lot of friends who feel so much safer with dogs in their home, alerting them of every little noise outside!

Team Up With Your Neighborhood

There’s something comforting about knowing your neighbors have your back.

I text back and forth with a few neighbors on our street and keep an eye on our neighborhood Facebook group. It’s kind of like our own little neighborhood watch, with the occasional drama about someone not picking up after their dog… again.

Maintenance Matters

Check those batteries, test your alarms, clear out those bushes—yeah, it’s a chore, but it’s also the kind of thing that keeps your home safe.

Just like I stay on top of snack supplies and laundry (okay, try to), I make it a habit to walk around and double-check things every couple of weeks. Peace of mind is worth it.

At the end of the day, I want your home—and mine—to feel like a safe, happy place, not a panic room. With just a few simple upgrades like custom security storm doors, smart tech, and staying connected with the community, you can protect what matters most.

Home sweet (and safe) home!
