Sora Contemporary Circus Company is the latest artistic endeavor from the owner/operator of Bella Forza Lexington, Jessica Johnson. It has been the vision from the beginning of Bella Forza Lexington in 2013 to not only build a blossoming circus community in Lexington, but to create professional level performing artists to grace audiences both near and far with their talent, passion and awe-inspiring work.
Sora Contemporary Circus is hosting its first production, Utopia, at the Downtown Arts Center June 1st-3rd. Utopia is an exploration of the human condition, the constant strive for perfection and the balance of good and evil in the pursuit of happiness. This story takes the audience on a journey through the highs and the lows of life within the human psyche utilizing a variety of circus/performance disciplines such as aerial silks, aerial hoop, trapeze, dance, pole, acro-balancing and more!
Sora Contemporary Circus seeks to bring one of the most unique forms of performance art into Lexington’s culture, provide entertainment for the community as a whole, and to broaden awareness of circus arts throughout the region. This production will be a chance for the community of Lexington and surrounding areas to come together and enjoy this beautiful and inspiring art form.
