Yesterday my sweet friend Kalen sent me a text to ask how Nate and I are doing, and then she asked about the bunnies and how they’re doing. I thought it was thoughtful of her to ask about them, and I’m sure they would think it was nice too if.. you know.. they cared about anything other than binkies and noms. It reminded me that I’ve not talked about Biscuit and Freckles in quite a long time so it’s due time that they each get a little well deserved attention. Biscuit just happens to be enjoying some play time as we speak so I snapped these photos of him looking very, very curious as always.
In this photo you can see an example of something he spends a lot of his time contemplating. He’s very curious about feet and legs- why are they there? What are you doing with them? Why aren’t they petting me? He nibbles at them and pushes them out of the way, because they’re on his floor and they aren’t doing anything for him, so get them out of here. We are so inconsiderate of his needs.
This is currently his favorite place to hang out – under the corner display in the living room. Rabbits like to feel unexposed and protected so this is the perfect little place for a bunny to relax. He used to only lay down in places (like this) that seemed very safe but now he trusts us enough to jump on the couch and lay down. It’s hard to gain the trust of a bunny! They always think you’re up to no good.
And this is an example of the kind of parent I will be one day. The kind that gives no privacy and takes really embarrassing photos. Poor Biscuit can’t even clean his toes in peace.. but he doesn’t seem too bothered by it! Stay tuned for an exciting update on Freckles and what he does with his time. I know you’re on the edge of your seat!
