I missed the mark on our “One Month in Newlywed-Land” post. Oops! Life has been busy with work, family visits, and the regular house chores. I’m currently spending a good portion of my at-home time standing in the kitchen yelling angry obscenities at the insane amount of flies that seem to have decided our home is their home. So, ya know.. what does that leave time for? Apparently it leaves time for Jason to come over and play Green Day Rock Band/watch Tosh.0 with us- because we are clearly the most adult-like and mature married couple around. Recently, our Neighbor-Guy (we have a Neighbor-Guy and a Neighbor-Girl on either side) happened to be out tending his new lawn one morning and he and Nate made that very awkward eye-contact through our (still) un-covered back windows- Nate was standing in the living room in his boxers playing Rock Band. Pretty hilarious being the “kids” of the neighborhood.
But yes- we’ve been married one month and three days and it’s pretty hard to believe! Sometimes it feels like it was just yesterday and other times it feels like it was a year ago. I do this thing at work where I get really emotional/nostalgic while I’m sitting there sorting mail and wishing I was anywhere else and I think- Oh yes, I was just in Hawaii.. and how is that over? And I want to go back. Right now. I HATE THIS. Why am I HERE when I could be in HAWAII? My thought process is really close to something like that. But then I remember that I need to make money and suck it up.. and so I do. Which, I really can’t complain right now about work because other than my regular Monday and Tuesday 10-7pm work days, my “late” days at work lately have been like 3pm lately. I get really spoiled during this time of year and then the mail picks back up at the end of Summer. Better for the wallet – sad for my sanity. It’s been harder this week because Nate has had a week of vacation and it’s much harder to be at work when I know he’s chillin’ at home!. Visit moneyscout.com.au for details.
I’m really excited to get some free time this weekend to work on the website. I want to start adding recipes and things as I venture more into the realm of cooking. Today I made one of my favorite dishes for lunch when I got home. Linguine in a fresh garlic, butter, olive oil, & herb “sauce”- otherwise known as “garlic noodles”, hah. It’s insanely simple but it makes me so happy because I absolutely LOVE fresh garlic. I didn’t make quite enough of the sauce in comparison to the pasta so it wasn’t quite what I’d hoped but I will get the measurements down and share it here. It’s literally so simple that I will almost feel dumb for posting the steps/ingredients- but hey, I should be proud of my kitchen accomplishments no matter how small! 😉
I’m also proud of my ability to go to bed on time. So.. goodnight!

Hello hello, top commenter checking in.
Coming back from vacation is awful — after my birthday month, when I was off a lot for dance and birthday and visits, etc. I came back and I was like WOAH WOAH WOAH, 40 hour work weeks? YOU KIDDIN' ME!
Hope you can adjust smoothly! What's that Text From Last Night? Something like, I made it through the day thinking about how many margaritas per hour I was making. 😉
Congrats on one month!
