Polka Dot Mermaid

Polka Dot Mermaid
My hair, y’all. It’s so long. When did this happen? Because I swear it was overnight. Dying it these days is ridiculous and takes so much longer than it used to. I keep thinking I’ll cut off a few inches, but every time I go to do it I just end up putting the scissors back in the drawer! I can’t do it! This picture truly makes me feel like I have mermaid hair, and I don’t feel like I’ll be able to pull that off forever. So, I better enjoy it. ;] Though- I had a couple probably in their fifties approach me in the grocery store today, more specifically the husband, to say he loves my hair and that he wants his wife to put my color in her blonde hair. And she said, “Yeess, he’s been begging me!” So funny, and they were so sweet, haha. I can’t see myself with an unnatural color in my hair when I’m older.. but who knows?! I guess I have no idea what I’ll be like then!

The hair clip I have in my hair is one that my Mom bought for me when I was maybe, five? I’ve had it so, so long. I kind of love that I still have things like this! The comb that I use daily is the only comb I’ve ever used. My Mom used it on my hair when I was little and I’ve continued to use it every day, all of these years! It’s just a regular black plastic fine tooth comb and don’t worry, it’s easy to clean (don’t want you thinking it’s gross or anything because it’s old!). I really hope that one day I’ll have a little girl who’s hair I can comb with the same comb and who’s hair I can put this bow in. It may seem silly, but I love the idea of that!

Today was full of running errands, using coupons (Yay for a free $10 off at Kohls and a free git from Bath & Body Works!), and celebrating my Mother-in-law’s birthday. We met up over at her house to have dinner and hang out for a while, along with Nate’s sisters and the whole gang! Nate had to work today, so we didn’t make it over there until later in the evening. I had the day out and about all to myself, which is rare for me! There were so many sales going on but I got in and out unscathed and on track with my plan to not spend money unnecessarily. I honestly haven’t spent very much money on clothes in a very long time. I’ve struggled a bit with the idea of “outfit blogging” because I’ll think – “Ughh.. I’ve worn this so many times on the blog!”, but you know what? I like that. I like that I’m still incorporating things I’ve had for years into my outfits. I’m probably not as interesting as some of the other bloggers that consistently have new sparkly duds to show off, but ah well – I feel blessed to have the things I have! I’m toying with the idea of selling a few pieces that don’t fit anymore via Instagram in order to get rid of some of the clutter in my closet. There’s a lot of stuff in there that just plain doesn’t get worn anymore and I’d love to see those things go to people who would get some use out of them!

Thank you!! They're my "rain boots". The material is perfect, as long as I don't go wading through puddles.. the holes probably wouldn't work so well for that! 😉

I always loved them. I’m not sure how I ended up with this one .. I don’t have any others left! I’m sure she has them though.

    Hi Ariel! 🙂

I wish I could wear a short sleeve tee outside without freezing my butt off!

I just had the $10 off Kohl's thing too – got a sweater for $2.50!

I haven't visited in awhile, loving the blog design!

It’s pretty weird that I’m able to!! I think it may finally get a little colder here over the next few days! I’m kind of ready for it to feel more like Christmas. (And HI! Hehe.)

Love, your hair that length + the colour just takes it up a whole notch too. ♥ And… I say keep incorporating. I totally struggle with the same thing but it's something I'm learning to not sweat over – it's awesome seeing bloggers work there wardrobes! xo

Thank you, Veronika! I'm going to keep at it! May get a little repetitive, but I guess that's where creativity and relate-ability will make up for it! 🙂
