Today we took a little trip to Louisville to visit some of Nate’s family for Christmas. His grandparents were having a casual little get together at the club house in their community. It was a nice family filled afternoon of yummy finger foods and a pretty intense game of spoons! We literally ripped a table cloth apart playing spoons. Yikes! Sorry about your pretty floral table cloth, Grandma. She was playing too though, so I guess it’s alright. We headed home around 4pm and listened to The Trivia Guys podcast during trip. We have become SO nerdy. Ok. No. I take that back. I have become so nerdy. You’ve probably heard me talk about how we (us and a small group of friends) go to trivia night at local bars around town. We usually do alright, but we’ve only won money two or three times and I thought it’d be fun to look for a trivia podcast that I could listen to to pass the time at work. So anyway, we spent our trip home yelling out answers to all sorts of history, sports, pop culture, etc. questions. I love our nerdy fun!
Before we left the house I snapped a few pictures of my outfit. I’ve decided to just quit being so…. typical me, and quit waiting for the perfect scenery or moment for outfit pictures. I’ve been struggling a lot with my blog. Feeling inadequate or like I don’t measure up to other fashion bloggers or lifestyle bloggers. Trust me, I know that this is no way to think but I’m only human and those feelings can creep in from time to time. I want to make progress, but at the same time I just have to be me and quit thinking about what everyone else is doing. If most of my photos are taken in my backyard- so be it. If I don’t host a ton of give aways- oh well. I think I just need to quit being so tough on myself and realize that there are people who already like what I’m doing. That doesn’t mean that I don’t want to see a larger readership here- but I want it to be because I’m enjoying what I’m doing. =)
Hope you’re all having a great weekend so far! Nate and I are headed out for a lovely date night at PF Changs. I will have to get a few pictures of us together, because he looks smokin’ in his gray blazer. I’m just saying!

I just wanted to say I love your blog and I think your backyard photos came out wonderfully. I mean it is an outfit post and a cool background post – haha.
Thank you! That means a lot. 🙂
Truth be told, I am SO over all the giveaways! It seems like everyone is doing it and a lot of the time it's for the same thing! Drives me nuts.
I like your little blog! Your backyard is super pretty, so it's good as a backdrop! And I bet most people don't pay attention to the background.
Aw thanks Steffani. I know what you mean about the giveaways. I certainly enjoy hosting them now and then, but I'm not going to beat myself up for not having an amazing giveaway on my blog every single week.
I'm glad you like my blog. =) It means a lot, really!
