Thrifting and finding a super good clearance deal = my favorite! I’m not really sure what my style is these days.. but I’m having fun playing around with it and feeling a little more like ME in what I’m wearing. Warped Tour heart, coffee shop soul vibes? ✨😆

I think sometime between becoming a mom, working, I think sometime between becoming a mom, working, keeping up with a house, and trying to take care of everyone else… I forgot to ask myself what I actually like.

So lately I’ve been paying attention.

The clothes I want to wear.

The hobbies I want to try.

The spaces I want to create.

The things that make me feel like myself.

Maybe this is exactly what your late 30s are for. Not becoming someone new.. but remembering who you are.✨

I still just sit and stare at them in disbelief sometimes.. my twin babies.. my last babies.. and somehow they’ve been here for 4 whole years. If you’re a twin mom, you know that the time passes different. The early stages are a blur in a way I don’t even know how to explain. It makes it all a bit more bittersweet.

I love you Bennett & Everett! 💙💙

Universal was a blast. I hadn’t been since I was Universal was a blast. I hadn’t been since I was a teenager and I only vaguely remembered a ride or two! There was so much to do for the littlest brothers and aside from being HOT, it was perfect.

Everett was big mad at us for taking him on the SpiderMan ride and did not trust our judgement the rest of the time. 🤣 He LOVED the 1 Fish 2 Fish ride and wanted to ride that all day.

Bennett on the other hand was all about the thrills and the Trollercoaster was his favorite. He said it was “Torrifying” but he made us all ride it with him multiple times.

I rode Velocicoaster with Nate, Landon, and Maile. And while I would do it again - for a moment I did think I might die. I only did that once. 🤣 Nate and Landon rode it multiple times. Hagrid’s was more my speed and Cohen agrees with me!

I am a Disney girl at heart! But Disney doesn’t have a *real life* baby dinosaur that you can pet sooo there’s some competition. 😆

Goals For 2013

Goals in 2013
I never wrote down my New Year’s resolutions last year. End result? Not good! I barely have any memory of the things I made a “mental note” to work on. When I make a mental note it’s basically the equivalent of me writing something on a sticky note and then letting it blow out the window of my car as I drive down the highway. Maybe the wind will blow it back in my direction and it will end up stuck to my windshield … but the odds are pretty good that it’s gone! So I’m making a goal list, like every other blogger out there. You’re welcome!

01. Work out at the gym FIVE days a week.

Let’s get the cliché’ fitness goal out of the way right off the bat! I’ve learned that it’s all or nothing with me. My plans of going to the gym 3xs a week have failed me because there’s room to be lazy- pure and simple. Having the extra two days to play with gave me the option to decide to just go tomorrow instead. After I decide to go tomorrow 3 days in a row… well.. you get the picture. I will talk more in depth on how I plan to achieve my fitness goals in a later post.

02. Complete a 365 Photo Project.

I will be taking one picture a day for the entire year. I’ve attempted this 2 or 3 times in the past and failed. The last attempt was the 365 project that Nate and I did together – 365 Days of Marriage. Even though we didn’t complete all 365 days it’s hard to consider that one a failure simply because it’s extra difficult to do a themed project like this with another person and we worked really hard to create interesting/creative photos! This time around I’m going to be more lenient – a photo taken with my DSLR that represents my day or how I’m feeling. I definitely want to challenge myself from a photography stand point.

03. Break my time down // have patience.

For years I’ve talked about wanting to manage my time more efficiently – but saying you want to do something and actually figuring out the plan to make it happen are two different things. I’ve finally realized that I have to break my time/tasks down into small pieces in order to feel less overwhelmed and prevent myself from procrastinating. I tend to wait until I have hours to devote to something when I should be breaking that task down and getting pieces of it done and out of the way over the course of a few days. This is the reason that I sat for almost 6 hours getting tattooed – so I could have it all done RIGHTNOW. Being this way makes everything frustrating because not everything gives instant results, like working out and growing a blog readership. ;] I waste so many small amounts of time being completely unproductive (Internet, I blame you!) and as a blogger nothing I do online should be completely unproductive.

04. Run the 5k Color Run in March!

Assuming that the date of this race doesn’t end up on a day that I have prior commitments, I really want to do this with a few of my friends!

05. Cut my hair. OFF.

You heard me. I’ve said so many times that I would never, ever do this again. Like ever. ;] But I’d really like a change. We’ll see if I find the right cut or the bravery for this one. I definitely want to accomplish my very first goal before this one though as I want it to be sort of a package makeover!

06. Make our house even more of a home.

Our house has come such a long way since we got married in 2010! We decorated very slowly and picked up pieces here and there. It’s been really fun to watch it all come together. This year I’d really like to save toward patio furniture and a glass front door so that we can open the actual front door and let more light in when we’re home! We have ONE window on the front of our home at the top of the stairs and that’s it – so this would really brighten things up and allow us to see into our front yard without going upstairs! These are all things that can wait until next year or the year after as we save for other things that are higher priority but it’s the saving part that I want to start and the looking for good deals so we’ll know what we’re in for! The one thing I insist we do this year? Get our record player working, hang more photos, and mayyyybe invest in a new comforter!

07. Cut down on the negative.

I can’t stand to listen to someone be negative, about anything – but we’re all guilty of it aren’t we? It’s easy to see it when someone else is doing it but when the tables are turned… not so much. Strangers have acted negatively toward me in stores because of my hair or my tattoo, people have talked about me behind my back negatively, and I’ve listened to others be passionately negative about things of almost no importance and – it bothers me. And then? I turn around and think something rude about a stranger, say something about someone that I probably wouldn’t say to their face, and rant on about how hard my life is on a bad day. We ALL do it if only to a small degree (or maybe you don’t do any of those things-  please teach me your ways!) and I just don’t want it in my life anymore. Here’s to a year of less negativity!

I’ll leave off on lucky number 7! Have you made a list similar to this one on your own blog? Link it in the comments! I’d love to read it! I know I have so many more things I’d love to add but I really want to keep it simple this year and save my “bucket list” type goals for another time! Thanks for reading!!

These are such great goals! And I can't wait to see your hair… I'm thinking of chopping mine a little more too, and dying it in the spring! And ugh, so need to get back to working out!! 😉 Happy 2013! xo

These are amazing and completely doable goals! I've tried the 365 photos and only made it three months. It's so challenging! But I hope that if you do it, you share some of your photos. And I really like the last one. Negativity isn't necessary in anyone's life. Oh, and I think you'd look beautiful with a short do.

I'd love to see your 365 once you get that started again 🙂 I love the one you and Nate started together, it was so adorable!

These are such great goals, I'm totally with you on cutting down on negativity, this year I really want to focus on the good things in my life, especially after a rather trying 2012. I'm trying a 365 this year too, I'm not too worried if I don't manage it every day though, I really just want to get into the habit of taking my camera everywhere xo

I had sworn up and down that I would never cut my hair again either! But, I realized over time that I had grown and changed as a person, and that a shorter 'do was more "me" than it had been six years ago. I am loving.it.! When it comes to hair and tattoos, I always say, "Sit on it a while, then DO IT!" Side note: it is my personal opinion that you would look fabulous with long and short hair alike. 🙂
