I’m still going through all of my photos from my Florida vacation. It’s fun, and a bit depressing! Toward the end of the trip I was ready to get home, but looking back on some of these lovely days of wearing cute beach wraps, grilling by the pool, and wandering the strip for ice cream and souvenirs with my parents makes me miss it quite a bit! These pictures are all from the same day and they make me realize what a perfect day it really was.
My Mom gave me this cute little beach wrap. It’s just a giant piece of fabric that you can tie around you in a number of different ways. Hilariously enough I could only figure out one way since I didn’t have the instructions. I pretty much lived in this thing for an entire week along with my my sock bun. A wave only washed it off my head once. ;]

In other news, life has been a little stagnant lately. Being an adult is hard, isn’t it? Sometimes going to work feels like the most dreadful task. I’m still learning to manage my new job and I guess you could say that my confidence level is pretty low right now. I expect a lot out of myself and when I’m not automatically good at something I get really frustrated, really fast. I just don’t like to let people down, ya know? But these things are part of life. It will work out for the best I suppose! Any tips on building confidence (or a thicker skin) are welcome. Heh!

I found a moment to revamp the look of my blog over the weekend. What do you all think? It’s very simple, almost plain! But I’ve been going for a cleaner look every time I’ve tweaked the layout over the past few months. I want the focus to be on my content and less on distracting graphics and clutter. I’ve found myself applying the “simpler is better” strategy to everything in my life lately. It’s funny how I find the need to do that more and more as I get older. I remember a time when nothing was simple – not blog layouts, not my life, not even getting ready to just go to Wal-Mart. It used to take me 2 hours to get ready to go anywhere, y’all! My husband is so very thankful that I’ve become more laid back and less high-strung. But oh my – that has nothing to do with whether or not you like the new look of my blog, does it?! :]

I have one of those things as well, it's really comfortable (and I can only do one style as well haha). Oh and I really like the look of your blog 🙂
I love the new layout, and I love these photos – so summery! xo
I've always liked your blog layouts. I'm not quite sure how you do it!
I guess with blog layouts changing all the time, its a good idea to take screenshots occasionally. I think I might start doing that with my blogs, just so I can go back in time and browse what worked at one time for me. Its hard to comment since I don't know what your last layout was like.
