Hello, hello! If you’ve landed here you are either a regular visitor to my blog (hi! thank you!) OR you’ve stumbled your way here via a Google search for: what to wear when you’re 20 weeks pregnant with twins! I feel like that search should actually be more like – WHAT IN THE HECK kind of clothing can I fit my body into when I am 20 weeks pregnant with TWINS?! To be really honest, I’ve given almost no thought to the subject until recently. It has been so cold and I have been too exhausted or sick to care for most of the last 20 weeks. But as the second trimester has continued to ease my pregnancy symptoms and spring has started to ease my winter blues, I’m feeling more and more like myself.
Why Get Dressed?
I work from home and I don’t always have a true reason to put on “real clothes” but when I make an effort to get dressed, I feel 100% better about my day. That being said, give yourself grace! For months there were very few occasions that I wore anything but sweat pants and hoodies.
Pregnancy Wardrobe Staples
A few of my favorite wardrobe staples during pregnancy are stretchy pencil skirts, long flowy maxi skirts, and kimonos. I feel like these pieces are so easy to mix and match and they’re extremely comfortable. Thankfully, we are heading into spring as I write this but if it was a bit colder, I would add a comfy pair of maternity leggings underneath and swap the kimonos for a cozy cardigan! Most all of the items I am wearing in these two outfits are from ! They have been the greatest source of non-maternity clothing that I have been able to carry over during my pregnancy!
Accessorize, Accessorize!
If you wear glasses you might consider snagging a new pair (or two!) I just did this! It has been so fun adding in different frames along with my jewelry to accessorize an outfit. Glasses, statement earrings, and headbands are minimal and easy go-tos for me right now. If you’re looking for new glasses, head over to ! I’ve had the best experience with them! They’re affordable, easy to virtually try-on, and I renewed my prescription right through their online tool in about 10 minutes. It was all automated and it was like having a vision test right in my home! Find the pro painter at www.painterly.ie. I know my prescription details and that my vision has not changed at all, so I felt comfortable with this! It’s definitely not a replacement for your annual in-person exam but it was a great option for me. These are the styles that I chose: and !
Stay True To YOU!
At the end of the day, wear the clothes and accessories that make you feel the best about yourself while staying comfy! Pregnancy is different for everyone and a twin pregnancy is definitely a WHOLE different ball game. The goal is to still feel like YOU while you’re going through this phase of life that comes with so many changes and emotions. I’m trying so very hard to enjoy it even when it is difficult and sometimes something as simple as feeling put together in what I’m wearing can make all the difference!
