When Nate surprised me with a trip to Asheville, North Carolina for our anniversary – I could never have envisioned the beautiful hotel we would be staying at. Once I looked up the photos online, I was in love. But I still don’t think I quite grasped how beautiful and unique this place would be in person. I’ve honestly never stayed anywhere like it. We basically had our own little apartment in downtown Asheville for a weekend – a very high end, beautifully decorated apartment. Let me tell you my thoughts!
When we arrived at The Windsor Boutique we drove around the block a few times trying to figure out where to park. We came upon a little unloading spot right around the corner, we parked, and I stayed in the car while Nate checked us in. A super friendly employee came out with him to the car to help us cart the rest of our stuff in and up to our room. Nate found parking just a few blocks away at a nearby parking garage and was back to the room a few minutes later. We literally did not move our car the entire weekend because everything you could ever want to do is within walking distance of the Windsor Boutique – even the arena where we saw Death Cab for Cutie was just a few blocks away. So what could have been an annoying parking situation was no big deal at all in this location.
My first thought walking into the lobby of this hotel was – WOW. Every inch of this place is so wonderfully decorated and unique. Every single detail is perfect. I really liked that our room key was a personalized code that we would remember easily. No annoying room keys to fiddle with that don’t work! We also used this key to get into the hotel after hours or if someone wasn’t at the front desk to let us in.
The room, like I said, was basically an apartment. We were on the second floor overlooking downtown. I marveled at the little details the second we walked in the room – not just in the decor department either! There were delicious dark chocolate treats on our bed – which I devoured within about 5 minutes of being in the room – and local coffee to brew! The kitchen was stocked with all of the glassware, cooking ware, cleaning supplies, etc. that one could need for an extended stay. And speaking of extended stay – there was even a front loading washer/dryer, ironing board, and iron in a separate walk in closet area off of the bedroom. I could go on – but I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. I didn’t get great photos of the bathroom because we kind of immediately moved into that space with all of our stuff and I forgot before we left – but the giant stone shower stole my heart. And the biggest, fluffiest towels of all time. Oh my goodness.
We had a fantastic stay and I hope that we can make it back for a future getaway! I have a ton of photos to go through from the trip and those will be up soon. I can’t wait to share more of our trip!
