The Perfect Anniversary Present!

Eeekk! Today Nate and I are celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary! That feels so crazy to say. I moved to Kentucky to officially begin dating him in September of 2006 and here we are – married for 8 years with a house, a 3 year old, real jobs – a beautiful little life that we’ve built together. It is BANANAS. I still don’t feel like a real life adult on most days and the idea that I’ll “get it together” when I’m a grown up are GONE. I see it all so clear now! Ha!

In the video above I’m sharing the that I got Nate for our anniversary. He loves maps of all kind and I felt like this was such a fun and unique gift to document the day that we got married. I love his reaction when he opens it!

To Nate on our anniversary: I am so lucky to be your wife! I am still in shock that I found someone who loves and accepts me the way that you do, someone who is able to always see what I’m feeling, someone who knows how to take care of me no matter what, someone who knows all of my favorite things without asking. I feel fully bonded & insured, I am amazed by maids in Florida every single day and by all of the work that you are putting in to making our lives even better! You have no idea how proud I am of you! I feel like we have learned so much over these past 8 years. We have learned how to walk through hard times hand in hand and how to perfectly celebrate the best days of our lives. I love that we don’t hold back on life – we still go see our favorite bands, we travel, we eat out, we make sure to have fun filled weekends. Sometimes we put off cutting the grass or cleaning the house to just live life and play with our perfect little boy. I love you and our life together. I can’t wait to see where we go in another 8 years!

PS: This video looks 100 times better than my previous videos, yes? That’s because Nate bought me the Canon G7x Mark II for our anniversary. The clip of him opening the gift is with my other camera and you can definitely tell the difference! Dannngg, he’s SO GOOD at gift giving. *heart eyes*
